even if they offered over 100m pounds I'd still be hesitant. as crazy as that is, the guy's irreplaceable

While a year ago I might have disagreed with you, after seeing Tottenham post-Bale, I now completely agree with you. Money cannot replace what Suarez brings to the pitch fast enough for Liverpool to challenge for the league title, and/or make a deep CL run.

Until there are pictures of him leaning on stuff, I wouldn't consider it a done deal.

Visual depiction of Can's production vs Henderson from reddit

I know stats aren't always the best indicators in soccer and a lot of things Henderson does don't always make it on the stat sheet, but an interesting look nonetheless

If can will be providing depth at LB, CDM and CM, then I think he's fine. He doesn't need to be Henderson, though he may see the field with him at the same time.

He should provide great depth at a few positions and start a decent amount of matches next year.

well, their transfer dealings were widely mocked, they fired their manager midseason and had someone of questionable intelligence and tactical acumen running their team afterwards and only got 3pts less than the season before with Bale. clearly, suarez is a great player, but i don't think anyone is irreplaceable. if you have targets that you really like and could move on with that kind of money, that obscene of a figure would be intriguing.

Your points are all valid. I just think of both Liverpool-Tottenham matches last season in contrast the same fixtures the previous 2-3 seasons. AVB was there for the first match, and fired promptly after.

I also just don't know that we have the immediate targets for that sum of money. It looks like the guys we are after all fit in our current budget.

yeah i understand. i'm just saying, there is a distinct possibility that you could improve even by selling Suarez. that could open you up to better targets. you guys were very one dimensional last season (and damn that dimension was great), but you could afford to really solidify your backline and midfield, as well as add another attacking player or two, with that kind of scrilla.

Suarez is worth more than Bale.

I don't want Suarez to leave, but Varane + £100mm would definitely turn my head...

Its would be an unenviable decision to make, but sometimes you gotta know when the right time to sell that star is... he MAY never be as valuable as he is today.. Not saying today is right, I want to see at least one season with him at Anfield on European nights..

But devils advocate... is this the one little injury, that gets the injury bug rolling??? Or he never quite recovers from... Who knows...

TBH, IF we sold him to RM... I would insist that Varane be part of the deal...

I knew you'd appreciate it pvill... One more from the insert of the LFC 2013/14 Season DVD... Nobody is happier for Flanno's goal against Spurs, than Flanno himself!!!
