Skrtel has played so well though. I think we've mentioned the need to cash in on Agger. It breaks my heart but its for the best. Will we ever get to see Tiago back there?

I think Skrtel and Toure rule out the need to get someone in next month, money is better used elsewhere IMO

from what I'm reading, Ilori may need to go on loan... have heard Spain (Valencia) may be that place... he still looks kind of slight right now... I think Wisdom can be a solid partner for Sakho in the future, too...

You know what makes the back 4 look better? Someone like this shielding them Fernando Reges - The Octopus I hope the link with him is true (or any DM)...

But then Lucas's role as Suarez's friend on the pitch will be in jeopardy.

At this point I say we just let Luis pick whoever he wants for the transfer window.

Wish I had thought of that. I was on a cruise and was in Falmouth, Jamaica on Tuesday. I hated not being about to watch the games.

Same cruise - RC out of NOLA.

We did get some games on the Carribean ESPN channel, but it was a weird mix of EPL, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch Leagues - plus Saturday was Key West anyway.

As for Skyrtel, Agger etc - I think we should keep them. It wasn't too long ago that Skyrtel was deemed not good enough and how he's a starter again. Their forms will round into shape, but Agger better learn to play on the right at some point. We also need to be aware of how much we'll need depth next year if we are to make the CL. The fall schedule is brutal. Experienced CBs and some rotation will be important.

What are the chances Suarez gets sold in 2014 despite the new contract?

Only way he gets sold now is if the big 2 of Spain come calling. And I don't see Madrid shelling out another 100 mil for a player next summer

Yeah I doubt he gets sold if we make top 4. And even if he is, the rumored amount in the clause is enough to make the sale ok with me.

My concern is that the argument will go from being "Suarez needs to be playing for a Champions League quality club" to being a "Suarez needs to play for Champions League club competing for the final." Which... he should.

I think he'd give us next year to see how far we go. But if he didn't I would understand.

Been reading that Flanagan was subbed off at Cardiff because of a hamstring issue, and that we might only have 17 squad players ready for the fixture against city. If this is true, what do y'all see BR doing with the back 4? I think Cissokho is a liability at LB. Maybe Johnson on the left and Kelly or even Toure on the right? It puts us in a very tough position. Of course BR could also be playing mind games...

earlier today, I read Kelly on right, Johnno on left... I would be OK with Cissokho on left, but with a short hook.. Navas may skin him alive...

Who do they have at RB, with Micah and Zabaleta out?

Is it going to be Dzeko and Negredo up top? Or are they going to tinker with the formation... those 2 dont seem to compliment each other on paper...

edit: This wont be popular, but if they play w/their normal 2 strikers, I'd be tempted to go back to the 3-5-2, sterling playing off of Suarez up top... Hendo at RWB and Glen on left... Cou, Joe and Lucas in the middle... Skrtel and Sahko w/Agger in between...

I know its fricking nuts to mess with our winning formula...

I'm looking forward to boxing day more than tomorrow!!

Against Fulham, City used Clichy out of place at right back. I don't remember exactly how he did...

As far as the formation goes, it would be sad I think to see Henderson slot in at RWB. He is absolutely thriving in the CAM/Gerrard role at the moment. However, our defense will be put to the full test at the Etihad. As for them, I think Pellegrini will stick with the 4-4-2 that they have been using as of late.

I'm mainly saying aback 3 due to injuries and tactics wise, it's most effective against two strikers, which most teams don't play any more...

Should be fun, would love to see us get at least a point...

Good point. I'm sure Rodgers has something in mind. As far as the result, the confidence in the team is at an all time high. Unfortunately, so is Citeh's with their current home form. I think we will have our chances, and we'll need to take them to get points. Can't wait to see these two unstoppable forces collide.
