Dandy, tell me about this GK Antonio Adan that RM released???

We were obviously looking for cover given we were in for Given (heh)...

I read he was once the heir apparent to Iker, but was a victim/pawn in the Mourinho/Casillas battle... shattered his confidence..

Any truth to that or is he just not any good?

TFTC, I´ve got no idea. It´s true Adán was slated for big things, but I´ve never seen him play.

I hate Woy... remember not too long ago our summer consisted of Christian Poulsen, Paul Konchesky, Milan Jovanovic and Joe Cole on massive wages...

Wasn't Danny Wilson in that illustrious group also?

I still remember Milan's first game against Arsenal when he tried to head that ball and fell flat on his face... I believe Cole got send off at the end of that game too...

No wonder Fernando wanted out...

First match of the season. I remember it well. We had the lethal N'gog (who scored) starting. Cole and Koscielny both got reds. We drew 1-1 thanks to Pepe's howler.

So who is your favorite signing so far?

I gotta say I am very impressed with Mingolet, although Toure has elevated himself already to cult hero status...

But Mingolet is long term, where Kolo is a stop gap..

Jury is still out on the new 3...

By the way, new squad #s... Sakho 17, Moses 12 and Ilori 26

Mignolet no doubt. What a signing. The kid's reactions are superb and he's very smart and a great presence in the locker room. Would like him to work on coming out though..

I second this. The PK save against Stoke was as big an introduction as I've ever seen. I'd put it on par with a new striker scoring a hat trick in his debut. He's going to be absolutely massive for us.

The more I have read about Sakho, the more he falls into the Sturridge/Coutinho category, in the sense that he has fallen out of favor at his previous club and is hungry to prove himself...

Still curious to see where he fits in with the team, but looking forward to watching him play...

I see where Hodgson is taking a long look at Ilori too perhaps, try and convince him to play for England...

Did anyone hear his first interview? He sounded more American than anything..

I hadn't heard that Sakho had fallen from the form he had a couple years ago, when he looked to be a future top 5 CB in the world, so when we were first being linked with him, I nearly shite myself in excitement

But if he's hungry and looking to prove himself, then I could see this working out like Cou/Studge, and that would be brilliant
