NOFC would be legit. I won't support and team with "united scum" at the end of their name.

New Orleans Defenders
- Battle of New Orleans
- WWII Museum and Higgins boat history
- DEFEND New Orleans
- (if a tie-in with the Saints were to exist) Sir Saint "the Defender" is an established, known mascot. The team crest could be on his shield.
Battle of New Orleans
- host an annual/semi-annual club tournament against an English, French, and Spanish club side.
- Saturday / Wednesday / Saturday round robin formula
- points winner / goal differential / head-to-head / whatever for tiebreaker.
- if it's feasible, do the same thing with national team sides
Carribean Cup
- see above, but with Carribean and Central American clubs that have populations in the city (Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, perhaps?)
Superdome
- unique indoor stadium on turf. Can use grass trays for international matches or special event matches.
- for league play, tarp off the Terrace sections with sponsorship logos on the sidelines and Saints logos in the endzones. Think Qwest field. The gold fleur de lis would look awesome on a black tarp.
- Champions Square and the New Orleans Arena allow for special event staging and potentially more profit for the team (again assuming Benson's involvement).
- (this is assuming that the new seating configuration will leave the field large enough to accomomdate a FIFA regulation field.

We've got a plan.
Now all we need is an ownership group worth more than 120 million - preferably to include Tom Benson - and a lease agreement with the Superdome.
Somebody get Don Garber on the phone.

I'd love a team in New Orleans and would buy season tickets...but I would not want it in the Dome...

I think it would be cool to have it in City Park...where, I dunno

yeah because i'm gonna catch the train coming from chalmette? we got to sell out the hornets before i worry about MLS realistically though
The Louisiana Superdome, currently undergoing renovations, will likely have a field area too small for FIFA, as they are bringing the entire Plaza level up close and then squaring off the corners.
Tad Gormley is, technically wide enough, but the track would have to be removed. This will draw opposition, as I'm opposed as well. It's a world class track and field venue, and Tad Gormley himself was a devoted T and F coach.
Renovate Pan American, build real, concrete stands, the space for it exists, just build higher. Then the next question would be parking. Extend the streetcar line farther up Wisner Blvd. from the terminus at Esplanade, it's not that far, so you guys at Finn's could get on the streetcar right there at Canal St.
I advocate a typical football name, like City, we can't be United because we're not merging two clubs. City, or FC would likely be best, then make up a mascot based on the kit/badge motif. Jesters is nice, as it is now, and not a half-bad logo or colors, even though I don't like soccer balls in badges for the most part.

I'd say Gulf Coast FC would be kinda cool.

Finn's would likely have party buses to and from the stadium. Stephen would hook it up for sure.

We could get Finn's to be the shirt sponsor.
