Someone posted in October before the Liverpool game the video of the computer bros going HAM at the windows 95 announcement captioned “Roberts, Shackleton and Poveda getting the band back together before the 23/24 championship season.” I lol’d

Thing that really frustrates me is Everton looked just as rudderless as Leeds until that sacked Frank

At least now you can see what they are attempting to do, granted it’s boring as shite but you can argue with 6 points out of 9 possible

Late in the second half we appeared to just be chunking in any attacking players we had left and just said go for it

Edit: I need to find some wood working project to do so I have a reason not to be home next Saturday morning

I’ve accepted relegation at this point, which means they’ll probably dig out a win next week and get my hopes up again.

So what usually happens with transfers in these situations? I assume just about everyone who they’ve signed since promotion will be gone and they’ll go at it with a mix of older guys like Cooper and Ayling along with the younger players currently on the fringe like Gelhardt and Perkins?

ETA: I read somewhere the other day that they’re supposed to be coming to the states this Summer if they stay up.

First thing to note is we aren’t anywhere near down bad as in 2004 when we sold every asset we had including James Milner and Aaron Lennon who didn’t want to leave. Only Lucas Redebe and Gary Kelly returned. Seth Johnson and Eirik Bakke only stayed because they were injured the previous season and their recoveries went into the following season.

Pretty much everyone will be available to some degree. When teams go down there’s always a few random players who end up staying like Lerma at Bournemouth or Mitro at Fulham but i think other than Cooper, Ayling, Forshaw and Dallas (if they ever play again) everyone will be available. I think we should have a good young core with Drameh, Cresswell, Hjelde, this Monteiro kid, Bate (he’s been great at Oxford), Archie Gray, Gyabi, Greenwood, and Joffy. They’d be dumb to take offers for most of them. McGurk should be the next academy guy to make the step up.

Other than that i would imagine most guys move on. Gnonto and Summerville will have a ton of suitors. The Spanish guys would go back to Spain. There will be plenty of interest in Adams especially after the world cup and his adaptation to the premier league. I’m sure Aaronson will get a move somewhere even a loan to buy move because i really doubt he’ll play in the championship. McKennie will go back to juve and be up for grabs. Bamford might stay but i doubt it. Forest would probably bring him back to where it started. Harrison probably won’t sign a new deal so even as shite as he was today he’ll be a bargain signing for someone. Players like Sini and Rutter will surely have get out clauses. Could go through the whole list but in short the squad will look very different and we’ll probably welcome back the likes of Roberts and…maybe just maybe Dan James

Really hope we somehow come through like last year but it doesn’t feel like it’s gonna happen. So much potential with this club, just need good ownership.

Having an idea and sticking to it is commendable (see: Bielsa, Marcelo), but the best option for now is to go get Rafa Benitez on an 18 month deal and stabilise everything. Either he keeps us up or he takes us up.

I agree with this

Everyone’s going on about how he should’ve been sacked sooner. He should’ve probably gone after the Fulham game. Then we won the next two and were extremely unlucky at spurs right before the break so you couldn’t really sack him then. It was clear after the Fulham and Leicester games that the system wasn’t working with this squad in this league. Now we’re in a tough spot because no one is leaving their current job for this mess and there isn’t an intriguing free agent coach like Marsch last season waiting around. If we can just stay up we’ll probably have Iraola. We’ll probably end up in the championship with who knows who.

Lads, new day

Table looks shite, but I still believe we have talent in the side. Really just need someone to get in here that can keep us up and then reset in the summer with someone permanent

Or we go down and we are forced to reset with someone, but at least I think there is enough talent that would remain to come back up quickly

Edit: we should start a go fund me for a proper lad to knock Orta out next weekend when he shows up to Elland Road, send it to the TSB guys to get the word out

Phil and Graham pulling no punches in their articles. All on the board. The atmosphere at Elland Road could be interesting this weekend.

Surely they’re going to bring someone in tomorrow or Tuesday right? I can’t imagine Radzz is going to put that much money at risk on the threat of relegation without a fight. I know there’s speculation the niners would walk away if the club goes down, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t be happy to take over at a discounted price.
