Which blown PK calls are you upset about?
The foul on Arshavin was a 50/50 penalty at best in my opinion and had no bearing on the outcome of the game.
Obviously the blown handball decision in favor of the Poles was horrible. But after a miserable start to the tournament in the opener, I can't complain too much about the refs.
I thought Webb allowed too much physical contact, and the Slovenian ref called too many light fouls against Italy and Spain, but they were both consistent with their usual style of calling games.

Why are we mentioning any of the Dutch players as least impressive so far (except maybe Robben)? I'd go Szczesny.
Regardless there were a bunch of people who did shittier than any of the Dutch.
Damian Duff's name was called twice in today's match, and the second time was to talk about how his name hadn't been called.
Christian Eriksen was not good. I can't remember him doing anything at all.
Alonso and Busquets struggled passing the ball today and Biscuits got burned by old man Pirlo on the Italy goal.
Did someone really mention CR7? Thought he was very bright whenever they gave him the ball (not often enough). If only Portgual had any creativity in the midfield...

because real inter fans dont root for other teams that are successful in europe. picking Inter and Manchester United as ur 2 favorite teams in Europe makes it look like you just picked whoever finished at the top of the table in both leagues between 2006-09

Picked Manchester United when I was a kid because of FIFA.
Picked Inter Milan because they weren't involved in the match-fixing scandal a few years back.
Well, I guess I'm not a real Inter fan.
1. Manchester United
2. Seattle Sounders
3. Inter Milan

time to cut ties with man U. they are the douchiest team in the world. its understandable to root for them when ur a kid, but once u grow up u gotta realize that it was a mistake

Torres had some problems finishing but put himself in the right place constantly, and made GREAT runs off the ball.

Hummels had the best game but Ozil was very good. His movement was the best part about that game.

Özil is a beast. Love watching him play. One of my Top 5 players in the world. Very few people can pinpoint a pass like he can.

I love being right about a player and I was so right about him. I saw him in one of the youth Euro tournaments really break out and dominate games and deemed him the future.
My money is on Gotze being just as good as Ozil.

For the most part, I would rather talk about the guys who were awesome.
Group A:
The Russian dude (11?) who missed about 50 shots was not impressive in his match. Yeah, typically he plays well for Zenit, but his shot was just off.
The whole Russian attack was machine like. They looked to have awesome chemistry from their time at Zenit. They are a really contender to take anybody out of this tourney IMO.
Lewandowski impressed me a little more than I thought, since I have only seen him play like two or three times. It was great to see score the opener. Very surprising that the Greeks came back.
The Greek sub, 14, was awesome. He just changed the game for them. I would be shocked if he does not start in the second go around.
Group B:
Christian Erikson definitely did not impress me like I hoped, but it happens. The kid is only 20. I think he could shine against Portugal.
Robben was not really poor. Everyone in the whole world knows that flys down the right wing, dribbles kind of weirdly with the ball inches from his feet making tiny steps, then takes a shot as he is parallel to the goal, and then shoots with his left foot. When he is on, he is brilliant. When he is off, the shots go high and wide. He is lot like Kobe Bryant cause they are both incredible, but frustrating players.
Wesley Sneijder was clearly the best player on the pitch during his match. Absolute top form. I loved watching him play. That one ball he played to Hunterlaar was about the most perfect I have ever seen.
I wanted Ronaldo to get more touches. Dude was great in his limited action, but Portugal's mids were disappointing as I expected (Joao Moutinho is really the only acceptable mid if Portugal wants to be a serious contender).
Ozil was class. My friend who does not watch soccer (trying to get him to follow it watched this game and now says Ozil is amazing and his favorite player). Ozil to Ronaldo on Madrid is my favorite combo in the world.
Mats Hummels was excellent. Portugal were stonewalled except for their mad attack at the end and Pepe's post shot. I wish more happened in this game. I was a little letdown by the lack of action.
Group C:
Pirlo is a wizard. I do not think anyone else needs to be said. My favorite ball was in the first five minutes where he rolled the ball around his right foot and passed it back flawlessly with his left. Absolutely fantastic.
Xavi, Iniesta, and David Silva really showed their brilliance today with top passes and incredible runs. The Spain-Italy was by far the best game in the tourney so far.
Balotelli was a cancer today. He fricked up big time more often than not. I still cannot believe Ramos caught him from behind. That is an absolute embarassment. Lucky for him, Cassano and Di Natale were quite good.

Also before he fricked up his chance by taking way too long... he did in fact do superbly to win it from ramos on the touchline and create that very chance that he squandered..
I think he was far from a "cancer" unless you count that the ref obviously had a per-concieved notion of him which led to the yellow.

Yeah i thought Ballotelli had a decent-good game, Cassano drifted wide alot so he was by himself alot against 2 world class defenders in Piqe and Ramos and was very physical with them and gave them problems, also tracked back a couple of times with good pressure/tackles.
I also thought his 'foul' on Pique in the ox was actually a penalty, he clearly got to the ball first touchd it then the collision with Pique.
I thought Duff had a decent game, his delivery was the main threat for Ireland, even with alot of it off his weaker foot.
From the Spain vs Italy game i thought De Rossi Chellini and Pirlo put a clinic on and were all superb.
Disappointments for me so far has been Eriksson, Nani didnt do much of note and a-side from the assist Silva failed to flatter in what could have been a make or break game for his selection.

Nah.... Balotelli earned the yellow. It was his fourth or fifth foul and the third in about a 5 minute stretch.
It was funny to see Chiellini's reaction to a similar yellow a few minutes after. He was smiling and it seemed like he was telling the ref, "Why the card? That was only my 9th foul today.
"
