If I'm not mistaken, he last played internationally for the US U18 team in 2012. Maybe we still have time.

Is he in a similar situation as Fabian Johnson in that he doesn't really know his American father? If so, that's kind of expected.

Nope. Born in Tampa, his father is a college professor I'm pretty sure. He spent school years in Germany and summers in Florida with his dad growing up.

Damn, sounds like he would have passed just about anyone's test, then.

I've noticed that all the Germans think he is 100% German and all the Americans think he is 100% American. I'd say that he's made his footballing career over there and that kind of puts them in the lead by default. However, if we actively pursue him and give him an opportunity at the full national team level before Germany does then I think we have a good shot. I'm not really sure what our recruiting plan even is with him. They definitely know about him, but it doesn't seem like they are overly concerned with locking him up.

Yeah, his dad made it sound like he was going to come live in America to go to high school but his soccer career started to really take off in Munich and they decided it would be best for him to stay in Germany.

That aint good. I know his dad wants him to play for the US but the dude is immersed in German football. Crap.
