Wow. I would have thought "Only in America".

Guess I was wrong.

Terrible waste of time, IMHO.

FIFA?

How long is the trial expected to last?

no more than a couple of days, but if convicted and fine a couple thousand pounds, then FIFA and the FA will have to come up with a punishment/verdict on his playing time much like suarez

I would be suprised to see this go past Thursday. This is nothing more than he said she said. A complete waste of time

Now you understand what LFC fans were saying about Suarez. And he was punished by the FA without even going to trial.

It's just flat out stupidity. What happens on the pitch should stay on the pitch. Rude things are going to be said, and, as a professional athlete, you really should be able to brush that off. I've played pick-up games in all sorts of sports where people try to get under your skin. It just motivated me to play harder.

The fact they are using lip reading on this trial is silly.

Do you know why? The only reason that this was brought to trial is a QPR fan filed a complaint. The whole thing is a joke. It happened in October and we are still dealing with this shite. And to the guy calling mainly me out about condemning Suarez and supporting Terry:If Terry is found guilty, I will accept whatever penalty the FA hands down. I won't bitch about the punishment for a month. I never said I don't think he should be punished, but, only if found guilty. Oh and Suarez is a piece of shite.

Yes. It's stupid. It's he said she said just like the Suarez and Evra issue. It's total bullshite. The only difference is that JT was actually "caught" saying it on camera and Suarez wasn't. Like I said, and this is the stance I've maintained, what is said during a sporting event between professional athletes should be settled on the field. It shouldn't even have to make the press.

Agreed, but for some reason, over there, the law says otherwise.

Can you imagine if a professional athlete in the US accused another player of calling him a "fricking black count"? He would be laughed at because nobody cares.

Yeah, actually you probably will. Just like any Chelsea fan. Don't act so high and mighty.

What would you say if found guilty with no evidence in support at all?

Oh and Suarez is a piece of shite.

I figured this one fit the situation perfectly.

When I don't bitch, I expect a thread with a full apology.

Keep fighting the fight brah.

I might do that, but probably not.

You do realize this entire thread consists of complaints about evidentiary proceedings, right? You apparently don't. Either that or you're just trying to be a douche.

The reason I posed that question is because you're whining about some lip sync testimony. If you can't see how that relates to my question then I feel sorry for you.

Sometimes I get frustrated and then I have to remind myself this is TD. Then it all makes sense. Brah.

Funny, bitching and reciting something I saw on twitter is not the same thing. Now if you want to go after someone else fine, but don't put words in my mouth.

You're right. You technically didn't say "this lip syncing testimony is bull."

But I wouldn't call:

quote:

Well according to the twitter responses, Terry's defense team just roasted the prosecution's expert "lip reader" into saying she can't tell if he said "a" or "you" and basically got her to agree that lip reading isn't a science and very open to interpretation. #FreeTerry

and

quote:

The prosecution brought another lip reading expert, who is deaf, and got her to agree that lip reading isn't always accurate. Why is this even being tried?

Doesn't exactly denote you supporting it as being something legitimate. Especially when right afterward you stated "why is this even being tried?" I really don't need to paint the picture here.

You can keep ignoring my question (because it sure does apply to this situation) and pretend like it's totally different, or you can answer it.

If Terry gets convicted based entirely on lip reading science, would you not be angry?

If Terry gets suspended anywhere near 8 games I definitely will complain. It's absurd. Just like the Suarez deal was absurd and I've already explained my feelings about him.

Nope. IMO, he shouldn't have said what he is accused of saying and if the jury decides he said it, then he deserves whatever punishment he gets. Now if he is found not guilty, I'll have an issue with any suspension.

Terry's defense team pushed for case to be thrown out but magestrates do not dismiss and will hear evidence. JT is now on the stand

@danroan: Terry, speaking very quietly, says Ferdinand shouted "shagging Bridge's missus". Terry says he replied, "f*** off, f*** off".

@danroan: Terry, when shown more footage of incident, tells court: "this is when Anton said to me 'calling me a black c***'.."

@danroan: Terry: "I thought he was accusing me of calling him a black c***..I was angry.. upset.."

@danroan: Terry, still giving evidence, says he then told Ashley Cole - during play - "Anton's just accused me of being a racist"

Must be nice to have the luxury of a jury....

I guess we just fundamentally differ on our sense of justice.

Which is perfectly fine. To each his own.
