Per usual, Arsenal blows for the beginning of the BPL season.

Well if Arsenal doesn't start buying some players soon it could be a long season.

This really has nothing to do with transfers. We got fricked by a ref who allowed the game to be played on villa's terms, cynical, foul after cynical foul, not to mention a just objectively terrible pk call

An early exit from the CL next week and their lack of depth isn't as much of an issue any longer.

Not entirely. We all knew Scz was a headcase at keeper and have been asking for an upgrade for 2 seasons. We knew we had some shaky defending with our backline and have been asking for an upgrade there as well.

Sunderland lost but I thought Jozy showed some good stuff. He powered through a couple of defenders and but could only manage a weak shot in the end.

Arsenal only had 5 healthy defenders as is, now glass Gibbs gets hurt again, Sagna who knows, might be out concussed. Have absolutely no Left Backs now

HAHA Podolski playing Left Back?

I think Gibbs is ok they just didn't have time to stitch him up so they made the sub. This same back line, with Monreal in for Gibbs, was mainly responsible for our form ending last year. I agree we need more depth but that has nothing to do with this particular game

Nothing to do with transfers?

Lol, yeah the ref was complete arse but our gk is shite, our backline has no depth and our attack is blunted by the lack of new ideas and depth

Wolfsburg signs Gustavo and beats Schalke 4-0. Arsenal doesn't sign Gustavo and loses 3-1. Coincidence? I think not.

Ok, after this I'll stop. I don't mean to be mean to Arsenal fans but this tweet made me laugh:

quote:

@PhilSchoen Why didn't Arsenal bring on Rooney, Higuain, Bernard, Suarez, or Gustavo to change the game?

We had chances. Rosicky had two breakaways, Cazorla hit the post. Losing three defenders in one game? Yea we need depth but that's just absurd

Wolves win 2-1.

They have three more points than Arsenal at the moment.

It's not just depth but quality as well. We obviously have needed an upgrade at Keeper for a while, and we could certainly due with a CB who pushes Mert/Kos for a starting spot, since those 2 generally have one or more mental lapses each match.
