Will we see Bob constantly...incessantly...select this guy for future friendlies and international tournaments?

If so...you can pencil me in for a every time. Why the frick did he start today?

Him and Ricardo Clark need to sit next match. Start Buddle and someone else instead. Clark was a major liability. Way too much ball watching and not enough harassment of the ball today.

Rico's strength is supposedly being a "defensive" mid. Yet...BOOM...by the 4th minute Gerrard prances in unmarked for an early goal.

Yeah...frick Findley and Rico.

I don't understand the Findley hate. Was he great? No, but he certainly wasn't bad. The problem is, though, he's a guy that needs to be brought in off the bench.

I think it's an unfair comparison. Findley could improve. I find it hard to ever imagine Casey competing at a level higher than MLS all star game.

I don't get the endless complaining about our players. What striker do we have on the bench that's really good?

If Bob starts giving Buddle starts in a few games people will be bitching about him too. Same for Edu. Findley was OK today, not very good, not horrible. The reason why Bob starts him is obvious. He gives us something different with his speed.

He's fast. A great asset if you're an attacking player. But his touch is horrid, as is his finishing.

Exactly...Robbie Findley is the guy who we bring on in the 75th minute to pressure Center Backs who may be worn out. I'd much rather 75 minutes of Edson Buddle's hustle because he has no one skill that is superb (but several that are above average) than 75 minutes of a guy who is fast for nothing. Just how I feel...

seriously. He's not David Villa but we don't have anyone who is, so his inclusion isn't the worst thing in the world. I'm sure with his speed he can create some havoc at this stage.

I agree that I'd rather not see him starting games, but he's already 100x more of a threat than Casey would be at this level.

I'm not comparing Findley's skill set to Casey's...I'm comparing Bob's apparent love of Findley to that of his former love of Shrek.

Are we too afraid to lay any blame on Gooch for Stevie G's goal? As a center back he got caught too far out freeing up the space for Stevie G to run in behind him. Sure Clark could have done a better job of tracking him, but that space never should have been there.

oh i see what you're saying. I'd say that Ching would be a more apt comparison but it doesn't matter.

He's really raw but I still thought that his pace brought some small positives to our play. I certainly don't think that he did anything so poorly that he should be resigned to the bench, but he should be there to start the next match. At least see what else we have to work with.

Gooch completely vacated the area. But Clark is the rant's scapegoat so he gets all the blame. And he certainly deserved some of it, he didn't track his runner but if were going to go there we had a lot of guys that weren't always tracking their runners today.

I'm a Torres hugger and certainly no big fan of Findley but this board always thinks the backup QB is better. With Torres that's probably true but I just don't see the options there at striker. Well there is one but its not Landon's best position and we haven't played him there in a while.

Would Buddle and Jozy really work together? What Bob wants from each guy is kind of similar, its definitely not what Bob wants, he wants a quick guy playing off of Jozy like Davies.

I think Robbie is an asset...you can't teach speed. And if he improves his touch and finishing, then he can be very very dangerous. I like having him there for us. He's grown on me. Like I stated though, Findley is extremely useful in a 15 minute spurt late in a match when instant offense is required. Right now, I think that's where he'd be most effective. Then again, I'm not Bob. So I don't call the shot.

But really Mac, who the frick are you trying to kid by pulling out the David Villa comparison? Even people who don't know you know you're a Torres guy.

I honestly was going to put him but I have to stop using Liverpool guys in all my comparisons. So I went with Villa who is better than everyone.

Unless Bob thinks Jozy's pace is enough? I mean, I don't know if it is, but didn't they play together for a bit during the game?

Honestly, with Donovan's recent form, playing him as a second striker would allow Stu to play on the right, and would give him more time on the ball.

Buddle is clearly Jozy's backup. A strong guy, who can hold the ball some. There's no doubt he's finishing better than Findley right now (really he's probably finishing better than Jozy too at the moment) but Bob thinks Findley is valuable because defenses have to worry about his speed, it opens up space. I assume he thinks that with Buddle and Jozy playing together defenses could play higher up and it would be more congested.

And FWIW...I completely agree with the point about Bob wanting somebody as close to Davies as possible. The only player who is remotely similar is Findley...so yeah. Guess I'll have to live with it.

what really hasn't been discussed much is the missed header from Jozy. The ball was put on the money and he just whiffed it. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned more
