I thought Clark played a great game, except for falling asleep on the goal. And I think that was primarily nerves related.... which is ALMOST understandable.
Rest of the match? Didn't see Lampard and Gerrard much for the remainder of the match, and Bradley was all over the place, with space and time, which means Rico had the middle on lockdown.
He could have just as easily had a mental collapse after the goal, and completely shite the bed the rest of the game, but he didn't.
Findley is necessary, especially against a team with speed on the wings, where Donovan had to track back. With Jozy and Buddle in at the same time, England would have been in our half the entire game.
My lone complaint about the game yesterday was the use of subs and the third sub. That game was screaming for Beasley in the last 10-15 minutes. The US was being forced to defend more. With two hold-up forwards in the game, one counter attack with Beasley and Donovan puts that game to bed.
I guess Bob is going to use his 3rd sub, and Bruce Arena's 3rd sub from the 2006 Italy game in the knockout rounds.
