Is Bale a ´Sure Thing´?

I´m watching one of his highlight video montages.
1. He´s scoring against scrubby sides. Aston Villa, Young Boys, Inter, Wigan, etc.....
2. I see blazing speed and wide open spaces, I don´t see any technical dominion of the ball (this space I see on this film isn´t going to be there for him next season)
3. He´s got a knack for goal scoring, however

They look scrubby on the vid. Slow, standing around, HUGE spaces. Looked like a premiere match. It was dated late October, so I´m sure it was a UEFA-Europa match.

sam byram had him in a straightjacket in the fa cup tie

no he isn't the real deal if you're asking if he is the heir apparent to CR7 or anywhere near worth his fee.

Me and some guys from the SB were talking about this last night. He's a great player, but his price tag and his hype are totally overblown.

I thought his goal vs ManU was pretty nice.

he's got great physical skills and has world class dead ball technique. the rest is overstated.

he's a better FK taker than CR7, but I seriously doubt CR7 would let him take them

No, he's soft, injury prone, and a diving douche that disappears for long stretches.

1. He´s scoring against scrubby sides
Then going to La Liga would be a perfect fit for him.

Menstruating again, I see.

Truth will set you free.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around your position that La Liga offers any sort of defensive resistance to quality players. You think Messi or Ronaldo are going to score 50-60 goals in England?

Bale is a sure thing. He was a one man team last year. He will be fantastic, especially when not all eyes are just on him.

I forgot who it was, but someone posted an analysis of all his goals, particularly when they occurred and against whom. Taken in that context, his performances became underwhelming.

Not for 100m, IMO. I would pay the 100m for Messi and C. Ron and if you were guaranteed 3 or 4 more years of how Ribery played the last 2 years, he may be worth it.
Bale is still very young though and I think Real is paying for potential. I don't know how he'd fair against high pressing teams because I haven't seen enough of his touch in tight spaces. He does have a habit of scoring fantastic goals though.

I think England defends more physically but I would say that Spanish teams press higher up the field. Messi and Ronaldo have amazing touch and awareness so they don't have any trouble with it.
Bale is a big guy who can play through contact, though he prefers to dive more often than not, so I think England suits him. I'm not sure he handles the swarming gnat style of defense.

A coach said Bale is the third best player in the world after Messi then Ronaldo.
I can't remember if the coach was Ancelotti, Mourinho, or Redknapp...one of those three.
