I’m feeling it! I really like the logo and the name. Making deposit for tickets now...

Any idea who the President of the team will be? They seem to think it will be a splash.

Yeah, really digging the crest. They should still change the Legion color from white to gold, but it's still probably one of the better crests in the US.

Agreed. The LEGION text is white is a bit distracting given that nothing else in the crest is white. Gold or the silver would look better, IMO.

Just made my last minute season ticket deposit to get a swag bag at good people tomorrow. Been fighting the flu so hopefully I'll feel well enough to attend

I'm passed the point of being contagious with whatever I've got. I need my legion gear!

I think Jay Heaps will be great as a GM. Good experience as a two-sport athlete at Duke, and a decent coaching career so far. Very smart guy with lots of energy.

Interesting the Harbert's are getting involved. I never knew they had a strong connection to soccer.

welcome to the league. Do you think fans will take it well?

Still too many teams in the USL with awful fan support.

The stadium will only have a 5k seat capacity, so they don't need to take it that well. In the beginning, I don't think the ceiling and floor are going to be that far apart.

Thats what we do. Its a good way to keep a good atmosphere. We about sellout at almost 6k for every event.

i guess sorta what I was getting at is Alabama and soccer dont seem to go together.

They are currently expanding BBVA Compass Field to get to 5k seats. It's on UAB's campus and it's where UAB plays their soccer matches. It's literally about 400 feet from the interstate and in downtown Birmingham, so I'm hopeful that they could get to 5k most nights.

If it will work anywhere in the state, it's Birmingham.

For instance, the high school semis/finals are this weekend. Of the 32 teams that remain, at least 10 are from the Birmingham area. I think only 2 Birmingham area teams have lost to non-Birmingham area teams so far in this year's playoffs.

I reffed Briarwood Christian's (Birmingham suburb) 2nd and 3rd round games against LAMP and Trinity (Montgomery schools). Briarwood dominated both.

Birmingham is becoming a bit of a hipster haven, and like it or not soccer is by and large a hipster sport. I think 5k shouldn’t be a problem

good stuff.

USC is a great league, but too many clubs that are a B team, so that makes fan support dreadful.

STL, indy, cinci, Lville, Nashville, and now Birmingham could have a nice region set up for traveling.

Not to be too much of a dick, but do you need more context clues?
