African Semifinals are finished. The following teams are in the finals: Ethiopia, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Egypt (6-0-0), Algeria, Cameroon, and Senegal. 5 of those 10 teams will make it to the World Cup. Ethiopia, Cape Verde, and Burkina Faso are the big underdogs.

This means the following teams are out: South Africa, Tunisia, Morocco, Zambia, and Mali. All of the big dogs are still pretty much in it though.

In South America, Argentina is through. Colombia and Chile are looking good, and it looks like either Uruguay or Ecuador will go through, while the other will face Jordan in an easy play-off. Jordan beat Uzbekistan 9-8 on PKs.

We all know the CONCACAF situation.

In Europe, Italy and the Netherlands are in. Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland are all but assured a spot. Spain looks good, too. The other three groups will be very tight. Bosnia/Greece, Portugal/Russia, and England/Ukraine/Montenegro should go down to the wire.

It looks like France, Croatia, and Sweden will have to get in through the play-offs. Serbia and Slovakia are already out entirely.

Turkey/Hungary/Romania, Iceland/Slovenia, and Bulgaria/Denmark are also fighting for playoff spots.

It's interesting how some of the groups in Europe are completely decided already, while others are totally up in the air. Turkey went from 4th to likely 2nd in this cycle of games, and they have the luck of facing the Dutch in Istanbul in the last game. The Dutch won't give a frick. Meanwhile, the Hungarians and Romanians had to face their A team.

England could qualify directly or not even make the playoffs That group is definitely the most insane

England, Montenegro, Poland and Ukraine are pretty evenly matched teams.
