Adnan Janujaz international eligibility is probably the biggest talking point football wise in England atm as he is a possibility for the England team(in 2018) aswell as Albania, Belgium, Turkey, and one other team that escapes my memory.
Wilshere has weighed in "Just because you live in England doesnt make you English"

He is eligible for:
Belgium - by birth
Kosovo, Albania - by parents
Turkey, Serbia - by grandparents
Obviously, Kosovo isn't a UEFA/FIFA member, but it's there.

Januzaj's parents want him to represent Kosovo. I think he may be holding out on any call-ups until FIFA/UEFA admit Kosovo as a member.
Sidenote: It's bullshite that FIFA and UEFA won't admit Kosovo as a member country, just because Serbia, and more importantly Russia and China, refuse to recognize its sovereignty. Over 100 countries recognizes Kosovo. But, overseas dependancies like Guam, American Samoa and the Faroe Islands get to compete in FIFA competitions. #FIFALogic

Aren't there a ton of players that have tried holding out for Kosovo? I feel like I've heard that multiple times in the past. They should just admit them.

Yes, but it is generally accepted that if FIFA were to grant them membership then the players who are eligible would be released free of penalty. Only nation I know off the top of my head with a few Kosovars is Switzerland. The German Messi is a Bosnian, I guess he thought he'd have a future with the Mannschaft back when he had a promising future. I thought he was going to be great, he was such a spark. He always kinda sucked for his club, which made the Chelsea transfer even funnier. I don't even know the last time he was called up/played any minutes, probably the WC or 2011. I don't think he was at the Euros, might be wrong though.

By that logic the US would have to drop all of our foreign/dual citizenship players, which is a sizable part of the team.
The way I see it, you should be able to choose to play for any of the nations you are eligible for. Who am I to say if someone is actually -insert nationality here- or not.

It's a fine line. All of our dual national players have at least one American parent or in Aron Bacon's case was at least born in the United States. They are all citizens of the US according to our laws, not to mention have at least some ingrained roots in the country. Some of the mexican-american players might technically have moved to the US as young children and technically have mexican parents but as long as they attended school here and grew up here then it's fine.
The issue is with guys like Diego Costa who has already said he's choosing who to play for based purely on a soccer standpoint. He went to Spain to play soccer, purely from a professional standpoint, and now he wants to play for Spain bc he thinks his chances of winning a WC are better. Wilshere's point is that just bc a young uncapped player moves to England, they shouldn't start trying to get them on the English national team.

What I don't like about the Costa situation is he already played 2 games for Brazil this year so I can see why Brazil is fighting to keep him from playing to Spain.

This would by my policy if I was FIFA president.
If you have ever won a world cup , a player has to be born in your country or moved there by 10 or he can't play for you.
If you have never won a world cup , the current by-laws apply.
FIFA doesn't need Rossi playing in Italy who have many stars , he should be playing for the U.S.A.
