In the Kicks and Giggs interview he said something about getting some patriotic kind of tat so I assume this is what he was referring too when he made that comment.
Bottom line is the guy loves America and he loves that he can represent this country through something else he loves and is quite good at.

What he said, but honestly I'm ok with it even if he meant it as a representation of both countries as its what we have in common symbol-wise and he's already cap tied to us.
