I said bloodbath for third. As in we’ll very much still be in the running for a spot. Not to mention we could luck out in fourth and get Oceania.
We should sail into the WC with our talent and the lack of a third powerhouse team in CONCACAF this go round, but we won’t because Gregg is a joke.
I’ll need odds. Because good chance we don’t make it is relative. There should be almost zero percent chance. But I’d say there’s about a 33% chance we don’t make it. So what odds will you give me?

Let’s save this for later.
Broski I think that 1K is as good as yours if he doesn’t puss out

Lol yeah Bc that’s how this works. What about $1,000 bucks U.S. comes in first in the pool with Gregg?

LOL, already losing confidence.
Don't be a bitch. If you really don't think we qualify for the World Cup with Gregg as coach, put your money up.

I think the jury is still out on Greggg overall, but he only helped his case tonight. Got a result with an inexperienced lineup missing its best player on the road. Started too many poor finishers (some of whom may have just been eating minutes for guys we need to go 90 in 3 and 6 days) but made good adjustments. If anything, he could have started the subs and brought on the attackers late against a tired defense, but if the backups had conceded, he would have been flayed. Qualifying is hard. Spain lost in Sweden today. Take the point and move on.

So it's no longer not qualifying, it's about qualifying and finishing in an arbitrary position that means nothing.
Yep, you're scared.

What’s the OP say? Bloodbath for third. Not we won’t make it.
If you think we’ll come first with Gregg that’s a different story.

If you think it’s smooth sailing then put your money up. Say we sail into first and have no issues. Don’t need to sweat out results at the end of qualifying

You obviously think there is a better chance than we miss than make, so why are you now afraid to put up money?

Anybody would be an idiot to believe this.
In fact, it's never happened in CONCACAF.
Even when we finished first in 2009 and 2014, we had issues going through that. Hell in 2014, there was damn near a player mutiny.

If we’re sweating out results in the last two games that means there’s a good chance we miss out, just like 2018.
If you think we’re safe and finish easily in first then let’s make that bet straight up. If not I’ll need odds.

Do you think we’ll need a result on the last match day?

You do realize there are (actually pretty decent chance) scenarios where we could be sweating out results going into the final three games of the window and still finish first.
You started a lunatic thread, I called you out on it by giving you a pass/fail wager. I'm not changing it. Ball is in your court. Either take it or don't.
But if you don't after how you came in hot with this thread, you'll look like a bitch. Basically, what do you value more, your pride on a message board or your money?

On top of this, how we qualify for the World Cup doesn't matter.
We barely made it through in 2002 and then went on to the quarterfinals in South Korea/Japan.
Mexico needed a Graham Zusi miracle to put them through in 2014 and then advanced to the knockouts.

You’re trying to bait me into committing to a false equivalency.
The lunatic take was that we would be in a bloodbath for qualifying, with a “good” chance of not making. Good is not a quantitative term. It’s subjective. In my mind good is about 33%, which makes me upset as a fan Bc with a good manager I think it’d be about 5%.
I too think there’s a better chance than not we make it in the end, but I think it will be much more painful than necessary.
You seem to think it’s a sure thing with Gregg. So why not say we won’t need a result on the final two match days to secure top 3? That gives us 12 games to secure top 3. Bc if we need a result on the final two days for top 3 then it’s almost by definition a blood bath.

I just said yes above. Especially when factoring in the fourth place spot and Oceania.
But I think it will come down to the wire, a la 2018. And then anything can happen, just like in 2018. Compared to sewing up qualification with multiple games remaining, that leaves a “very good chance” we don’t make it. IMO We don’t look anymore in control or dominant than we did that cycle.
And my point is I believe with a better manager it would not come down to the wire.

But yeah getting outplayed by El Salvador, the worst team in qualifying, is nothing to worry about. Even though the ways we sucked have been recurring through Greg’s tenure.
Uhh, what match did you watch? Turner was literally a spectator out there with the exception of like 2 saves...
Also, want to guess how many players on the pitch tonight were playing in their first competitive international match away from home? It was NINE, NINE players... It's a young, inexperienced roster on the road to open qualifying.
Would have loved a goal, but I'll take the point

So then what qualifies as a "good" chance?

One save. They only had one shot on target I believe. We had two shots on target.
Now we did have double their total shots. But they had more possession. I expect we probably were ahead on expected goals.
But we cannot consistently fail to control games in the midfield and expect to consistently get positive results. This summer was an outlier in that respect. 1-0 wins in stoppage time or extra time after being dominated in midfield.
That will come back to bite us if not fixed. And it was just as bad as ever this game.
