It’s gonna be MAY 6

My options are:

Verona
Rome
Milan
Genoa (maybe too far)

Please give any other tips/advice

I’m not a soccer fan but I’m a big sports fan and would like to experience this while I’m there

Thanks

Yes and I'm saying Cagliari isn't on the mainland of Italy. Are you going to the island?

Ohh ok

Yea, northern Italy

ROME stadium looks the biggest but it may be more fun to attend a smaller stadium

My first ever football match was at the MarcAntonio Bentegodí in Verona, before it was expanded for Italia '90.

Verona is a great town, but the stadium is almost soul less unless it's totally packed. On your list, Verona may be the easiest to get into (we jumped the fence.)

But I'd try to get into Roma or Milan, first.
If you're in the north, why is Turin not on your list? Juve may be a tough ticket, but Torino shouldn't be.

Well, if Roma is playing at Cagliari, it means that Lazio has the Olimpico that weekend, and you don't want to go to a Lazio match unless you hate blacks and Jews.

ETA: Sassuolo has a home match that day. Try there. Would be fun, if you can make it.

Just looking at the fixtures, Genoa v Fiorentina looks good. The stadium is cool, Genova is an interesting, picturesque city and their fans are among the more loyal and vocal.

Otherwise, the home fixtures at Sassuolo or Udinese could be fun for smaller teams /stadiums.

If you're in Rome, Lazio V Atalanta seems to be that day and will likely be the most high profile match with CL/EL positions on the line.

Lazio has a group of Ultras who are very right wing and it's fair criticism to say Lazio's owners have taken the Trump route of criticizing them.

However, the vast majority of any tams fans are realm just regular people if you're just planning on going to a match.

Ultras are just what the name implies. They are the motivated, die-hard, supporters of just about any club. They're the guys who wave the flags in the stands, all match long. They're the guys who sing all match, set off the flares and/or smoke bombs, they're the ones who tend to violence at times, depending upon the club. Most regular fans, and opposing fans want little to do with ultras, they can be dangerous.

The ultras who support Lazio have a reputation for being extremist bigots, serious anti-semites, racists, etc. and they don't care who hears them or who knows it.

I saw Fiorentina play Palermo in Florence. Really cool experience and easy to get tickets.

I was surprised how much weed was smoked in the stands. We sat next to the ultras.

is the Milan game in Milan?
i'd choose there just for the history of the San Siro

tldr version: lots of history

the San Siro is the stadium of the milan teams. it has hosted 4 European finals(a soccer tournament of the top soccer clubs in europe) in in 1965, 1970, 2001 and 2016. it has also hosted the group matches, quarter-finals and semifinals in the 1934 World Cup and group matches, round of 16, and the quarter finals in the 1990 World Cup, as well as group matches in the 1980 Euro's(a soccer tournament thats is pretty popular in Europe)

We bought via the club. Joined their fan club and picked up tickets at the official office outside the match.
