About the drastic changes in the East Village/Lower East Side over the past 6 or 8 years:
Not to make any value judgements but . . .
If you like cute tattooed punk rock girls in polka dot mini skirts dancing to the Ramones or Big Star in a divey Rock & Roll bar more than . . .
bragging about your bonus from the hedge fund management company over a $34 designer cocktail infused with essences of hydranthea and moonflower and 2 $80 oysters from the exact center of the north pole which aren't really as good as one's you'd get for $1 on the Gulf Coast then, yes, the old heart of the East Village has moved to Brooklyn.
Seriously, it's almost spooky how quickly anything that one usually would have gone to the East Village to find in terms of night life 2006 moved to Williamsburg - - -
and is now already fleeing Williamsburg to Bushwick, Bedstuy or Ridgewood . . .

Bushwick, Bedstuy
The only friends I still have there, now live in Bushwick and Bedstuy... That would have been unheard of 20 years ago...

Yeah, it's really a shame in terms of night life . . .
there was a kind of ecstatic, electric vibe to walking the East Village streets at midnight between rock and roll venues. . . still having so many of the original 70s punk era characters hanging out everywhere . . .
that really isn't there anymore with the scene 100% moved to Bushwick . . . any local could just as easily be in Portland or Austin. . .

Yeah, Daptone started a new rock imprint called Wick. The Mystery Lights 45 may be their first release.

If I'm Don Garber, I'm having a serious sit down with Man City and the Yankees on how they've basically torpedoed the most promising and potentially lucrative franchise in MLS in less than two years.
But we all know the Don won't do that.
All he saw was that 100 million franchise fee paid.
Also when are we going to hear anything about their ground being build
City Football Group took the MLS for a ride.
