We would make that one splash buy a summer other than like on year. We didn't have to go crazy b/c the class of 92.

In the old days that was enough to be the big spenders. No one else was spending like that. Obviously it was never Chelsea/ManCity/PSG levels but still.

I get what your saving but at that point the most successful team was still Liverpool and you can still argue even now they are.

I'm not arguing that we aren't the most successful club and undisputed kings of europe, in england... but the thing you casually never mention is that in the past quarter century we have won only one major trophy (league/europe)..

A good portion of the people on this board were a) not born yet b) kids that have no recollection...

You don't have to try and play down Man U's success...

I welcome all the new LFC supporters around the world and urge them to buy plenty of jerseys, scarves or whatever! I'll save them a seat on the bandwagon, provided they know its a ride that will probably, most seasons, end in heartbreak!! Just stick with it and don't jump ship on the first sign of trouble..

Im not trying to downplay anything but this come back to the hey im a Liverpool fan but im not bandwagon argument when calling out other fan bases. Its pot meet kettle 100%. In the 70's and 80's Liverpool would just buy every player in sight with talent.

you can call it whatever you want, I picked a top 4 club and have no shame... made sense at the time, cause I wanted to be able to see them play, they tend to have the better players and nobody likes a loser...

If someone likes some of the other "lower" tier teams play because they have Americans, thats as valid a reason as any... it just wasn't in my criteria... there is no wrong answer.

I do find it funny when a fan of a top 4 club tells someone searching for a team to pick Everton (or this team) because they are on the rise, when odds are the most they'll ever win is a FA cup... It's like, someone should root for these poor bastards, but not me..

I like what I've read about them so far. I was between them and Tottenham but it seems like Tottenham has a new squad every year

they have been really stable the last decade. just an easy team to root for, likeable players, awesome manager, humble supporters, cool stadium, bad arse crest, tim howard, etc.

Yeah, I've really liked Martinez on the World Cup coverage and having Howard is a plus as well

im interested to see how they do in the transfer market this month. they need to replace lukaku and deulofeu, and also hope they can get gareth barry in permanently.

even so, still a very nice team. will also be playing in europa league next season.

bbc and sky are usually solid. the club's beat writers are usually pretty well-connected.

probably want to avoid mirror and goal.com

Awesome. Join the fold boys. Time to get the new kits the team just released.

Everton has the best of both worlds. You will usually be competitive and won't be labeled a bandwagon fan aka (man u, arsenal) lol

Also you are going to need an Italian team and I recommend Juventus
