1) Man U - didn't want to pick them as I knew they were always on top. Felt like picking the Yankees.

I hate when people say this, there all multiple clubs around the world that can be considered the yankees.

3) Liverpool - Honestly, if I had researched their history with the number of championships and the Hillsboro tragedy, I might have picked them.

Also could be considered the Yankees esp when you actually look at their history. Dominate era of success and lavish owners who outspent everyone in England.

Liverpool's main sponsor is a beer company. Easy decision for an LSU fan.

Sunderland fan population on the soccer board population: us. That's all I got for you besides draconian sanctions spontaneous manufactured hatred of you if you pick Sunderland.

I'm in the same predicament as you.. Like someone mentioned earlier if you don't pick a good one, they'll never be on TV. But I would feel like a sidewalk Bama fan if I picked one of the top teams . I do like Ronaldo better than a lot of the other top players. I guess I'm gonna be a Real Madrid fan.

EDIT: I'm also part Italian so I've consider Juventus or AC Milan as well.

I like playing with them and Man City on FIFA. Right now my list to choose from is in order of likelihood:

1. Real Madrid
2. Juventus
3. AC Milan
4. Everton
5. Houston Dynamo
6. Chelsea
7. Bayern Munich
8. Man City

Easy. Watch ESPN's 30 for 30 on the Hillsborough Disaster. You will be a fan of Liverpool shortly after.

Somebody said how can you root for a team called Chelsea? I say how can you not root for a team called Chelsea?

It's like a guy named Francis or Leslie. You know he's going to be a tough or cool mother fricker because of all the shite he's taken from that name.

Chelsea's owner is the stereotypical Bond villain. You could do a lot worse.

I don't understand why people always think they need a team to cheer for. I enjoy the hell out of EPL games and I don't really have a team.

Yes, but at the time and in the BPL, they were clearly the Yankees analogue. I wasn't considering Bayern or Real Madrid or Barcelona. It much much harder to find their leagues on TV.

True, but they were some distance from their heyday, weren't they? Have they even ever won the Premier League?
