Relevance? It's amazing how robot and communistic American conservatives are that their whole lives are obsessed with who or what is "liberal". Sad really.

That time in economics class when I argued with the teacher that soccer was a pro capitalist sport and baseball was a pro communist sport.

In the US, it's more that the liberal or left leaning philosophy attracts people to soccer because it's more "worldly", more than "American".

But to me, and maybe some of us here who like the game, and probably a significant amount of Europeans, it's a sport. One that involves players using their legs to move a ball into a goal instead of their arms. Just another reason to drink beer and chat shite instead of working.
