Knee over the ball for a solid shot. This is really hard to get through to kids though.

Bend the knee, kids tend to keep their legs stiff throughout the motion

This. Also, just tell them to practice a lot just kicking it hard and they will get the feel for it.

I've been teaching to jump into the ball and kick it like you are mad.. thanks for the tips. I'll add bend the knee

Teach the plant foot also, lots of kids plant behind ball causing a reach for ball with toe kick

Also, lean back a little if you want height, lean forward if you want it low.

Just me but I would never teach them to lean back until they're a little more developed. They'll naturally lean back as is and if they try to do it you'll end up with a bunch of (American football) kickers.
