re: How can I watch Barca v Real today?

I like Barca so I'm not. I don't hate Madrid, its hard to pull against a team with that much talent and plays positive football, but I support Barca when they play.

He doesn't defend and position himself well enough at times for me to put him on the same level as other wrold class defenders. Definitely a great defender though

That's if you think about defending from a classical standpoint. Vidic and Pique are world class defenders for different reasons.

Like I said, I recognize that those are important factors and I wouldn't be opposed to Pique playing for my favorite team but in the rare occasion when he's called on to defend, I'm not confident that he won't do something stupid.

For me a world-class defender is a guy who I can count on in all facets of the game. I guess we just have different definitions of world-class.

Hardly, for starters, the guy two positions to his left has him beaten in pure thuggery.

Would you rather Vidic or Pique?


I think Vidic (pre-injury mostly) is good enough at retaining possession for me to take his defending over Pique.
