I'm curious, what do you mean by this? I've heard other people say this too. Is it meant to be a diss at CR7? If so, why? Cristiano is considered by most everyone to be the superior player historically, right?

Not meaning to come at you in a dick kind of way btw. Just never understood why people tend to refer to the Brazilian as the "real Ronaldo."

He was the first and is the real Ronaldo. Cristiano Ronaldo is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Many consider Ronaldo to be the greatest football talent ever. Would be in the Messi, Maradona, Pele tier if it weren't for injuries.

IMO, he's the GOAT striker.

Yeah, I'm aware of his World Cup record. Maybe the best WC player ever. I know Klose broke his goals record, but no, he isn't the player Ronaldo was. But I just find that a players club success, in today's game, is more indicative of how great that player is/was. Cristiano's record in England and Spain are more impressive than Ronaldo's.

Right, but CR7 is no doubt in this same tier.

CR7 is better at virtually anything it's possible to be better at as an attacking player. Pace, dribbling, shooting, aerial ability etc...

Probably why he has 120 more goals than Fat Ronaldo in almost the same time frame at Madrid.

I'll give you dribbling but I still give pace to CR7.

ETA I kept watching soccer post 02 WC because of OG Ronaldo. It's why I started following Los Blancos.....I still think overall CR7 is the better player.

Ronaldo's injuries leave a lot of question marks around his career, and since these historical XIs involve so many hypotheticals, I don't see the problem with asking, "what if?" with players like Ronaldo and using his peak to determine how good he was.

Maybe dribbling in close quarters Fat Ronaldo is better but there is nobody who has ever been as scary running at a defender with the ball on his foot than CR7.

Pace is easily CR7.
