i think we would take Zusi or whoever is on the left out for Mix. Send JJ out wide, Bradley down, and Mix up top. It would be the same formation we ran against Ghana swapping Bacon for Mix

Good point, because lord knows you've never said anything stupid on this board.

Bradley isn't a no. 10. He's a hard-working CM who will do the dirty work. The fact that he's so good at the B2B role makes people think he can excel closer to goal, but I think that is a position he's unaccustomed to. He's one of the best American players ever though, but no one will deny he's struggled in that role ever since that brilliant half against Mexico.

Was this a bad thing? I feel like that half has been really influential in our formations since then. However, we cannot drop Beckerman or Jones, so Bradley will have to continue to play out of position.

He was awful against Ghana and decent against Portugal, but he has made a couple of dreadful decisions that have unfortunately been costly. I hope he is our MOTM against Germany.

I think we have to stay with the same midfield trio and hope Bradley has a better game.

No way can jones or Beckerman's removals be justified, they've been two of our best players.

Which btw is absolutely crazy to me as they were two of my least favorite USMNT players a year or two ago.

Mou agrees with you.

I'm concerned about fatigue.

It's painfully obvious that MB is better in the box to box role. But Jermaine and Beckerman are playing too well to change everything up. It's up to Bradley to evolve for a little while.

Bingo.

Mix would be great in the 10, but we can't take off Jones/Beckerman in the shuttler/6 roles, and we're not taking Bradley off, so it will stay this way.

Overreact much? The guy was just speaking hypothetically. If we bring someone on to play that #10 role, more than likely would be Mix, it would be for either Jones or Beckerman because we would drop Bradley to their spot. Bradley would become the defensive mid that would play box to box and get forward, and the other guy would need to stay back and defend, which is what Beckerman does already. And he and Bradley have played very well together. So you would just have to decide who to take off.... Jones or Beckerman? Or would you take off Bedoya and then bump JJ to the wing? I prefer JJ in the middle of the field more so than as a winger.

Look, you're irrational hate for Jones is well documented on this board. We get it.

Listen here, dumbfrick. My hate for Jones in the past was quite rational. Up until the last year, he was consistently taking terrible fouls, added nothing going forward and was always caught out of position. I have changed my tune on both him AND Beckerman leading up to the WC.

I liked the idea someone just mentioned of moving Jones back out left, MB back, Mix under Dempsey.

what if we did some kind of italian 4-3-1-2 type formation and play all three cm very narrowly and allow width from Beasley and Johnson. plus who ever the top three are.

Nah. Jones has always done way more positive than negative for us. Everyone here assumed he was being asked to sit back in the Beckerman role when he wasn't. So any time something went wrong he was blamed for it.

Wasn't it just yesterday that you were telling Bho he should be banned?

How is it possible that you haven't gotten around to TN Bhoy yet?

Whatever helps you sleep at night, champ.

You're still way wrong and should be banned purely for idiocy.

MB HAS to redeem himself for these last two games.

keeper came out from goal and he kicks it right at the defender...
