Is this the soccer board or the Rant.

Because that's what Rantards said about Miles.

I don't think the two jobs are that comparable.

That said, I would say that France has often had issues with player attitude ect and Deschamps has handled the team pretty well in that regard and often just having star players work together for the NT and not create issues is more than half the battle.
Roberto Martínez did a wonderful job with Belgium in this respect, as well.

Deschamps is one of the more frustratingly boring managers around. More than any current Italian manager, a torchbearer for the old Italian style of setting up ultra sound defensively, don't concede and hope star attackers get you a 1-0 to protect.

Agreed, he did well with managing egos even if they under performed in terms of their potential attacking output.

France had all the tools to succeed and more. They were the favorites for me pre-tournament for good reason. They have Kante and Pogba to protect the back four. I think Kante could be their most important player. Varane and Umtiti is a lethal CB pairing. Lloris is typically world class. That's all you need to win a World Cup. Excellent destroyers and a disciplined back line were the key to this squad.

Spain and Brazil had potential in this regard, but France's balance up and down the pitch was unparalleled. Throw in the fact that Pavard was the best RB as a huge bonus.

You do not need much tactical acumen when you have Griezmann and Mbappe. Just put them on the pitch.

Where is Zidane coaching these days?

Oh I don't know, riding off into the sunset after three straight UCL wins. Was this a real post?

Pogba, Hernandez and Giroud. But the key to this squad was Greisman

Didn't even include their real most important player.

Traditionally Great players don't necessarily translate into great Manager/Coaches. Beckenbauer was maybe the exception and the Brazilian guy who coached Pele in 1970....of course that Brazilian team was insanely good and could have won with even a man down. Deschamps seems to have it down pretty good, but he has very stout talent around him in Pogba, Hernandez and Giroud. But the key to this squad was Greisman. He helped setup so many shots in this World Cup( The own goal was really Greisman's shot) . He scored 2 yesterday and assistd on Pogba's goal

Umm....this......is stupid. With all due respect.

Not really.

Former superstar players rarely make good to great coaches in any sport.

The players who make great coaches were basically unknown as a player or weren't good enough to make it big time, so they focused on coaching early on.

wish the USMNT’s starting XI included the starting keeper for Tottenham, LB for Atletico, CB’s for Real Madrid and Barca, RB about to move to Bayern Munich, CM’s for Chelsea, Juventus, and United, forwards for PSG, Atletico, and Chelsea....Not including all the other studs on the bench and ones that were left off the team. I’m sure that had nothing to do with them winning

So they didn't beat teams with players that started for big clubs all over the world?

Guess every manager in the world cup was shite.

No doubt. Particularly because of they style they play and the fact that Pogba is next to him.
