It's not like this person is waiting to be asked. The MLS should be leading this thing, as they stand to make the most money out of it with transfer fees.
At some point we should also take a step back and realize that we've been taking this sport seriously for about, give or take, 25 years. Our progress in that time has been nothing short of amazing, but this final step, as with most fields, perhaps requires the most amount of work and vision.

i agree that we're a lot better now than we were 10 years ago, and that likely will increase
the MLS needs to be like porto. realize its place as a place to invest in youth players to sell them

gulati and bradley don't believe this
Continuing to call up Bornstein is proof of that. I would rather pick the best 18 year old defender we have and let him f things up than call up Bornstein ever again.

a simple analogy is someone who takes up golfing from scratch at their local course and over time, gets a lot better. But, as every golfer knows, the hardest gap is from becoming good to really good/elite.
We've probably hit our internal ceiling and now it's time to go outside our borders and find someone to help us keep improving.

The financial windfall for selling players will be gigantic if we do this right.

but that's not what those in charge want right now
they believe that the MLS will be good enough soon, and making money via tickets/tv will be better than millions a year selling players

If we don't go in this direction with the next hire, I'll be upset.

Makes my head hurt that a player like Kljestan nearly went to Celtic for 4 million. A big problem with this is the MLS refuses to budge on giving up the players portion of the transfer fee.

I will push usmnt to the outside of my caring abilities if that happens. I'm not in the habit of rooting blindly for stagnant sports teams

Missed the whole match. Recap? Should I go out and burn down a barrio?

I'm hoping with this next generation of soccer fans will force some kind of pragmatic change. We could possibly organize and keep the USSF and MLS honest about these things.

that's like $20M that is left on the table
we also need more things like the generation adidas concept

Basically we need money in the hands of people who actually care about the future of U.S. soccer.

When you care, which you obviously do it's supposed to feel like somebody just died...my fear is the ship will remain rudderless through the next year or so and we will still be grasping at straws before the next WC cycle. I am however convinced that Bobbo is not the man for the job. If we've had success it was in spite of his "Coaching"

From what I've gathered so far:
1. We got two goals against the run of play.
2. Dolo got hurt. Inexplicably, Skeletor brought in Bornsucko.
3. Bornsucko got caught out of position and ball watching, resulting in three goals.
4. After going up 2-0, we bunkered, but we did it poorly.
5. Timmy played like a coward.
6. Adu played well.
Am I missing anything?

7. Dos Santos and Chicharito blew past our defenders like they were standing still.
