Anyway we can qualify for the confederations cup after this ? How did we qualify for it the last time if we didn't win the the gold cup last time.
no, only the Champions from each confederation qualify.. and its the champions from 2 years prior (the last cup), not the cup in the same year as the confeds cup..

It's going to be a long wait to the next WC. We will need something different.

I don't follow much. But what I saw from Lichaj and what I've seen from Timmy Chandler. I'm excited about these two. Am I mistaken in thinking these two could be our RB and LB's in the upcoming years ? How old is Cherundolo ? 31, 32 ?

that's b/c they have the talent/money to have superior talent, and develop that talent
it's not about competition, it's about who is on the squad
Very true, talent is a major part, but the US has athletic talent to match anyone in this country, but they simply have limited numbers of them going to soccer.
The fact, though, is that the US also can get better playing tough competition to get a better evaluation of their team like was said earlier. When you don't have the talent, you need the chemistry and coaching. You don't get that playing shitty teams all the time when it's real competition.

I don't try to seem more informed, I just try to take off the one sided glasses and call shite like I see it. I do that with every sport I watch.
Asking questions, and challenging the status quo isn't a bad thing. Saying we 'got unlucky' today is fricking asinine. It fricking sucks we lost from a fan standpoint, but I'd like to fricking know why.
It doesn't make me a fricking elitist, in the same way you rooting hard doesn't make you a beer helmet wearing idiot fan.

Very likely, assuming Chandler doesn't betray us and play for Germany.

you are not mistaken
Please go on...With Adu and Agudelo, it seems like we have 4 young legs with some speed. To go with our older guys like Duece and Landy. Nice combination IMO

Bitching about CONCACAF is stupid . Do you not remember this team lost to panama in this tournament? The US drops games to CR and Honduras all the time

we know all of this shite, but we will pull for our guys no matter what the problems are.

our team is not that athletic anymore. we're pretty slow. mexico was a shite ton faster than us tonight

well yeah
if our top guys played soccer we'd be very ridiculous
hell, if our 3rd level of athlete played soccer, and we maintained our current skill level, we'd be ridiculous

well i won't touch "coaching"
but we had developed a good chemistry. moving lichaj to LB and boca in was great. dolo going out changed our back line, and bornsucko fricked us. he fricked us hard
bob's rotations up front got a little too cute and ended up confusing us as well as mexico

Anyone got a good link for tying an efficient noose?
Posted on 6/25/11 at 10:11 pm to MrWiseGuy
well adu is pretty slow, so
juan needs to develop his skills a good bit more
our back 6 of the future looks like
lichaj
goodson
ream
chandler
then bradley/holden as holding/defensive mids
then we have landon, dempsey, bedoya, jozy, juan, and adu to mix and match up top

the 'we're more athletic' garbage needs to stop after today hopefully.
I don't think it matters how good the athletes are that we send out there. Where can we go if technical skill isn't stressed all the way on up?
