2-1 at halftime. Defense torched early for two goals in the first 15 minutes, but Petric bagged one and they finished strong to the break.

Second half team: Only Sidwell and Mesca replace Trotta and Diarra.

Stephen Kelly has signed a new two-year contract. I guess that's good for the sake of stability. He still isn't my favorite.

I guess that may be it for Grygera (if he's even still around). Don't see the point of three oldish RB's. Although Grygera can play CB, and it seems like I read Riether can too.

I wanted an upgrade on Kelly, but if Riether's that guy I'm more than fine with having Kelly around for cover. He's definitely good enough for that.

Fulham win a friendly 4-0 away to Nice in France. By all accounts, easily Fulham's best and most comprehensive performance of the preseason.

Goals by Petric, Kacaniklic, Diarra and Mesca. Ruiz got in a solid 70 minutes, and Kasami is still not back after Olympic duty.

All seems headed in the right direction with two weeks to go before the opener against Norwich.

Petric seems like he's playing well

Really think Diarra will have a good year too, really good player. If we can somehow keep Dempsey and Dembele it's a good team on paper.

I'd have to go back and check, but I think he's netted in every preseason game so far. Petric, that is.

I know it's just a friendly but Petric was really good.

It's OGCNice.TV so it shows literally like every shot on goal Nice had and pretty much only Fulham's 4 goals, but its better than nothing.

So is Dempsey not going to play unless they have a deal? I mean I know the window still doesn't close for a while, but shite we have a season to prepare for.

I believe the official word is that he came back from the US with a bit of a lingering hamstring problem. Don't know if that's BS or not but Dembele's been playing.

Final friendly versus Charlton and Dempsey not on the bench. Only possible excuse is he actually does have a lingering hamstring problem, but he's probably gone. Regardless, I don't see how he plays next week.

Early goal for Damien Duff. Hoping Rodallega gets some solid minutes off the bench. Riether starting at left back and Petric is up top with Bryan.

Well, that was fun. Petric looks fantastic, Riether was solid, and I think we may underrate Diarra, he is a really good player. I would still like another central midfielder, Diarra and Dembele are a really good combination but we still don't know what Dembele's future is and Diarra could always have injury issues.

Jol said some more conciliatory things today about the Dempsey stuff, still not getting my hopes up,

FFC lodging a complaint against Scouse for tapping up Dempsey. I think he received some bad advice, and it will cost him and Fulham. I do not believe the club has received any credible offers, espcially from LFC. Now with Fletcher going for 14 million even an offer of 8 is a lowball IMO.

That's a crazy price, but there's always the contract situation, Fletcher must have had at least a few years left on his deal.

Anyway, not a bad performance today. Ruiz has got to stop giving the ball away so much. Dembele was all over the place; some man against boys shite at times with him and Cleverly and Anderson.

Article on ESPN where Fulham say they haven't received a bid for either Dembele or Dempsey.

Most interesting thing though is this

quote:

Dembele's performance in his team's 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford illustrated why Sir Alex Ferguson is among his admirers but with the midfielder's contract not due to expire until 2014 - Fulham have an option to automatically extend in 2013 - Martin Jol is under no pressure to sell.

I was always under the impression that Dembele had only one year left on his contract. I don't know if this is correct or not and I don't assume everything ESPN says is right but its not goal.com either.

Could be a big difference between his and Dempsey's situation. I could deal with keeping Moussa for one more year, taking the option to automatically extend it for a year and then sell him.

LINK

ETA: The Guardian also have an article about it today saying the club has an option to extend another year.

Good to know about Moussa. Ball stays in our court this way.

Dempsey though. Well, I am all sure we feel the same.

Well, Fulham have accepted a bid from Spurs for Dembele apparently. 15 million or so. But all is not lost, we're apparently closing in on Kieran Richardson
