Fulham 2012/13 Season-Long Thread

That's right. This is going to happen. The Super Whites are going up, up, up!
We've lost a few boys including Andrew Johnson, Danny Murphy and Pogs, but we did get Mladen Petric on a free from Hamburg and he's still got some goals in him for sure.
I may RA this thread if Clint Dempsey leaves us, though. Just FYI.

My season long thread last year was a disaster. Like 10 posts, 9 of them within an hour of me posting it. We've got to do better this time.

Relax. I've followed Fulham since they signed Dempsey in 2007. In fact, before Aston Villa became my team I actually considered myself a Fulham fan because Dempsey was my favorite player. SouthofSouth can attest to that.

Ive been following the EPL for a few years without a team, now Im jumping on the Fulham bandwagon! I could definitely be a long season without Demsey, but if he gets the chance at Champions League play I want to see him take it.

I don't. Look, I know the USMNT people will want to see Dempsey "get his chance" but it's not like he is super young anymore. We won't fetch a life-changing fee for him, so the best thing is for us to keep him on the squad.

He has a year left on his contract and he's nearing 30. Fulham are already paying him as much as they can and he scored 20+ goals last season. The reality is a (modest) 10 million GBP transfer offer is good business for fulham, who bought him for less than half that and will lose him for nothing next season.
Clearly, Dempsey feels like he needs to take this chance to play at the top while he has it. He has most likely earned the distinction of the best fulham player since the 60s. It will be strange to see him play for another English club but I think a move is inevitable at this point.
