FIFA ruling sends the next great American hope back home

Hopefully he comes back to Barca when he is 18.

Even that has now disappeared. Spanish news media reports Monday said FIFA had ordered that any remaining ineligible Barcelona youth players could no longer live at the club’s academy, La Masia, or use its facilities.
Hopefully he comes back to Barca when he is 18.

The rule is a good one but it should be looked at on a case by case basis. The Lederman family is obviously doing well in Barcelona and they can afford to have Ben there. This isn't exploitation, it's a family helping their son live out a dream.

I would have liked him to stay in La Masia obviously but I'm kind of glad he'll be training over here for a little bit. Gets to spend some time with some of the guys he'll be playing international ball with for the foreseeable future.

meh that doesn't hurt kids in Europe who can go anywhere after 16.

glad he is out of there for now so Spain doesn't try to make a play for him
