How dare my #2 CAM ask for a raise when he's already making $750/week.

One of my biggest pet peeves with the game is when a player asks for a raise and you give them a bit more than what they ask for and then they say they're leaving.

Or when players get mad about their play time because you sat them out for a cup match or because they had like 50 percent stamina.

Yeah the algorithms they use for player behavior in this game are retarded.

FIFA needs to fix this homesick bullshite.

Lost one of my Armenian players in my Russian career because he is homesick. Armenians shouldn't be getting homesick in the Russian league, and it's not like his domestic league is even in the game. So he can't go back home.

It's the worst aspect of career mode. In a career mode I had with United a couple of years back, De Gea got homesick. The board went ahead and sold him... to Spurs.

Same here. My board sold him to another Russian club.

Usually, I can lowball their request (if I can't afford it), they refuse, but they typically shut up about it for a few weeks.

I've only had a player ask to leave after ignoring their requests for a long period of time.

Players getting mad about play time is quite dumb. Had someone start every league game, but then get upset when they don't start in two b/c it's FA Cup + Europa whenever there's a league game just after (4 games in 8 days). Haven't had many issues with homesickness though, as I try to praise/pay those players enough so that they move from it.

What does praise and motivate do?

And yeah I've had the annoying issue with homesickness. Of course that player also got sold to another team in my league.

In 15 it helped when the players were complaining or homesick. I think it still works.

You can use those whenever the player is unhappy for reasons other than pay (and sometimes playing time).

Kaiserslautern update: Just got through the winter break as the top team in the 2. Bundesliga (tied with Red Bull Leipzig in points).

Signed Rivaldo Coetzee (GOAT South African pickup in FIFA) on a free and sold some deadwood. Now have a youth scout for Germans and a youth scout for Americans.

My top CM refused to sign an extension with me, though, and got nabbed by Southampton on like the second day of January. I've already benched him and got his replacement logging major minutes.

Kelechi Iheanacho is chasing the golden boot, he's a machine. Glad I've got him for what should be my first season in the top division.

Also, my top goalkeeper got hurt and missed the final three games before the winter break, so I sent out my 18-year-old Nick Rimando clone, who I've trained every week since I signed him early in the season. We won two matches with him and had a scoreless draw in the other, so it looks like I have a star on my hands. It's funny to see a guy that short in the goal, though.

Hopefully I can win the league and get some more cash to go along with the promotion. (We crashed out big time against Bayern in the Pokal.) I'll probably sim a lot more than I did in the first half of the season, just because I'm ready to hit that step up in competition.

Yeah, he starts out as a free agent because his real club (Ajax Cape Town) isn't on the game. Sometimes he gets nabbed early, sometimes he doesn't. One of my scouts found him randomly, and I knew I had to jump him.

Nice. I wanted to Iheanacho, but he was too expensive for my Notts County manager mode. I was able to get Amrbose as one of the other young EPL stars in the making. I played him at RW mostly as Armstrong and Embolo are ahead of him at ST. Currently in March of Year 5 in that one. I'm very solidly in 3rd place (not shot at league title, but 7 points clear of 4th), and right on target with my champions league qualification goal.

For my Club & Country with 1860 Munchen, I've cleared the first transfer window. I have a lot of non-Germans I still need to sell, but was able to transfer about 6 out and bring in like 10 young Germans who I hope turn out well. (I'll do a full update like I do for my other manager mode, just later)

I have like zero depth and didn't even score until my 3rd match. I'm playing with a lot of formations as I need to find what can work with this squad. 4-3-3 is out the window as I have no pace at all in attack.

Nacho grows quickly when you start working on headers and volleys. Those seem to be the two biggest stats holding his overall back. In my City career I swapped Bony for Dybala and sent Nacho on loan for a 2-year deal. I'm now in my 4th season and he is INSANELY good.

Really solid player. He's good with high potential but not expensive. He's the star on my Fleetwood Town career.

I've got his finishing and shot power up to over an 80 by just training him every week since the preseason.

Now I'm developing his dribbling skills, because I switch between a custom 3-5-2 type formation and a narrower 4-3-3. I need him to be a striker at times, an inverted winger at times, and a pure burner on the outside at times, depending on what type of formation I'm facing.
