Ryan Giggs and four former Manchester United team-mates have agreed a deal to purchase non-league Salford City.
Giggs, in his 24th season as a player at Old Trafford, is joined in the venture by the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.
United player-coach Giggs, 40, said: "We want to use our football experience and knowledge to nurture young talent."

And last night my buddy was telling me how they were at the front of a bid to buy united
They will rocket up 2 or 3 leagues pretty quickly as good players from the league above will drop down to play for them.
Similar to FC United, they blasted it in their first couple oif years because good players dropped down to play for them (A guy I know who previously was at Juve academy and had a contract at Ascoli --- dumbass went to college rather than move back to Italy to be on 7k a week as a youth player -- got rejected because the competition was so high)

There has been speculation that there is a consortium, backed by some Saudis, intending to make a bid on ManU. Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, and Neville, were rumoured to be involved.
They would not be the primary investors, more of a 4 piece, symbolic figurehead. Sort of like Jay-Z, and the Brooklyn Nets.

Touché!
British food generally discourages over-eating.
Anyone, more blood pudding or kidney pie?
