Well, according to him...
Bill McGuire and his ownership group in Minnesota, Arthur Blank in Atlanta, and David Beckham and his ownership group in Miami (just to name a few) are investing hundreds of millions of dollars not into building clubs of value, community involvement, and success but rather to use as "tax shelters" and to lose money on purpose with the additional goal of preventing the growth of soccer in the US.
When scenes of fans enjoying soccer and FC Cincinnati are discussed, he says the growth and development of USL is bad because it "squeezes" NASL.
When the development of Atlanta United and its $60M training ground and academy outreach is highlighted, he says it doesn't matter because more people watch European soccer.
So I am seeing a recurring theme here and am wondering if it was just me.

It goes both ways. The EPL becoming more accessible has led to more interest in the game. I have friends that couldn't give two shits about the game 5 years ago and now they're watching regularly and going to a couple Dallas or Houston matches a year.

It's pretty simple
I don't trust the Kraft cartel of Gatber and Gulati and believe they are harming soccer in this country more than they are helping.
I'm not really pro-NASL as much as I'm anti-monopoly, anti-single entity, and anti-closed pyramids. All are bad for fans, bad for our teams in CCL, and bad for our national team.
Why does MLS get an arbitrary "D1" sanction from a governing body, which by definition limits competition?

If you want to have that view or discussion, fine. It is a discussion worth having.
However, you seem to divert to a tangent and allow your strong feelings on the matter to color your opinion of everything relative to MLS. The notion that these owners are not wanting nor working to build great and successful clubs but rather using them as tax shelters with objectives of losing money is, to put it mildly, quite a stretch. And your comment that they are actively working to keep soccer from developing as a sport in the US seems astonishing and groundless. It is quite one thing to be anti-monopoly and another thing to espouse conspiratorial views like the ones above.
For example, I don't see how you can say what is happening with Atlanta United is bad for soccer in the US or will not matter. The same might be said regarding Minnesota. These are exciting developments for soccer in the US, and the fact that they are MLS related does not mean that they are prima facie negative. At least in my view. You clearly have another view, and that is fine.
