It will take a while for Lukaku to develop. He's only 19. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts hitting his stride at around 25 or 26, the age at which most targetmen finally develop. He's certainly precocious, and I wouldn't be surprised if contributed significantly much earlier, but from what I've seen, he's still very raw.

Drogba didn't sign his first professional contract til he was 21. Even then his production wasn't great. I would say by all means he was a late developer.

or butt hurt for that matter. It was a stupid quote from drogba that's all not really sure what the point of it was. He would cut the grass but he wouldn't sign a contract worth >100k to play football. Whatever didier
ETA: should point out that I have very little respect for the majority of Chelsea fans I've ever met. Beezy and bho (ETA: almost forgot about TN bhoy) are good fellas and knowledgeable dedicated fans, i would consider them an exception. Most of their american fans are ignorant bandwagon fans who know little about the club itself or the sport in my experience. It's a fashionable club to support for douchebags.
Furthermore, like pretty much everybody in the world who's not a Chelsea fan I hate John Terry and Ashley Cole. I also think roman is an obnoxious owner and I don't think I could ever support a team with somebody like him writing the checks.

He will be missed. I will always cheer him on. He is an all-time great in terms of Premier League and Chelsea. Now it is time for his predecessor, Romelo Lukaku.

I'd be surprised if a 19 year old striker was ready to lead the line for Chelsea. I can't think of any striker in PL history who was able to do well at that age, other than Rooney and Anelka. Obviously they will rely on Torres. They should try to get a player like Adebayor. They can obviously pay his wages, and he'd be an excellent lone striker if Torres continues playing poorly.
