Funny thing about Cameron is he was GREAT minus two moments, two crucial moments.
I think we'll be okay. This team has a different feel to them. I don't think it will be all that dramatic down the stretch. I think Ghana and Portugal will be tied in the 75th minute, and we'll be tied in the 75th minute, and it'll just slowly march on to advancement.
I think this game is made for our 4-1-4-1.

See, this is where I really don't know.
Ghana will be going for blood and Portugal is fragile as frick and has little to play for (unless they get an early goal a la last night.)

I disagree about being on point with the subs. Two of the Ghana subs were forced due to injury. The Bedoya for Zusi sub was perfect though.
For yesterday, I did not like bringing on Yedlin. I would have preferred Timmy Chandler there. I hated the Omar sub. It felt the end of the Nigeria friendly all over again.

I think Fabian may be our best outfield player, and this is not an insult to Bradley in the slightest.

Portugal should (should) feel like they have everything to play for. In that they could easily talk themselves into thinking Germany will hammer us.
Both Ghana and Portugal are best on the counter though. Could be a bit of a dud for a while.

i loved the yedlin sub. portugal was so slow, we could both strengthen defense and aid our counter attack with his burners. pace was key last night. timmy is probably the better player atm (not going to act like i have watched enough of either to determine that conclusively), but he doesn't have the same burners.
it was amazing to me how slow Portugal was. to the point that, if we had still be trailing late, i'd have had no problem with Jurgy throwing on Green. we should have similar opportunities against germany comsidering per, hummels and howedes all got burned by pace vs. ghana.

Well, it worked perfectly.

Yedlin ended up being okay, but I don't trust Yedlin or Green to make me lunch at this point.
Chandler can play painfully dumb as well, but I feel like I trust him a little more. I lack faith in almost all of our reserves.

he created our second goal, tracked back extremely well and was smarter about wasting time at the end than anybody but dempsey. he played quite well.

No question.

If Low is dumb enough to start Mustafi, he'll take off his only athletic defender since Hummels is playing hurt.

You put way too much stock into your feelings.
Dogging the Yedlin sub
On topic...Germany is going to gameplan around Fabian Johnson. Wouldn't be a bad idea to start him on the left IMO.
Do fullbacks ever switch sides during a match?
I don't actually think Jurgen will mess with his back 4, but it wouldn't surprise me if something changes just to get fresh legs back there. IIRC both Beasley and Besler had to stop in the last 10 minutes of the game.

is boateng healthy? mustafi was certainly to blame for ghana's first, but overall, i think he's been pretty solid in his limited WC action. did well vs Portugal and did alright (other than his goal-allowing error) vs. ghana.
i wonder if jogi changes tactics at all after watching johnson run rampant vs. portugal. any sane person can see that unless you have a player at LW/LM that will track back, johnson will torch you. ghana neutralized him fairly well. pretty surprised that portugal didn't flip nani and cr7 more often. nani would at least run back some.

I don't know why he took off Boateng.
Mustafi is a good player. He's just nowhere near as athletic as Boateng.

There was just a little blurb about it on espn's site. He and Khedira sat out of training yesterday due to injury.

Gotcha. Didn't really follow up on that. Khedira has been playing like shite. Would rather him play than Schweiny

This is not about feelings. Yedlin came on and played alright. Every other time I have seen him play, he has looked mediocre at best. It makes sense why I would not trust him as a sub. I almost never see him play well. I have been underwhelmed in the couple games I have him seen play for Seattle.
