I think a lot people agree with that from a quality of play standpoint, especially when there were only 16 teams. A tournament that lasted a month with almost no filler.
Euro 2000 and 2008 are as good as any tournament I’ve seen.

I know the Euros has top to bottom better quality and is an awesome tournament, but it will never beat out the World Cup for me in terms of how much I enjoy it.

My summer this year was booked up with school stuff. Next summer was gonna be just work before I actually go to London for grad school in August. This excites me now, bc I can actually go.

But the Euros quality of play didn't go down, bc the standard of football there is much higher than the rest of the world.
its not an apples to apples comparison.
Teams like Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Sweden, Turkey etc are much better than what Asia, Africa and CONCACAF will roll out there in an expanded field.
