People gave crap, but didn't resort to insulting the posters themselves. For the most part it was amiable, and banter was good natured. That doesn't exist anymore.

I see your point. Everyone hates United, but very few have insulted me personally.
People just take this waaaaaaay too seriously. It's a game. We are American fans of teams an ocean away. Because someone throws a jab at a Chelsea fan doesn't mean they are insulting your family legacy. (Chances are that you're the only fan in your whole family.)
Roll with the punches. Don't freak out when someone makes a bus comment or laughs at Arsenal's SELL SELL SELL policy. Posters, including myself, overreact way too much.

Everyone being arse holes about everything. This used to be one of the best board on this site because we were always friendly to newcomers, always civil with each other, and things were just really laid back. When someone posted something you disagreed with you had a normal argument that didn't resort to insulting someone else or their opinion. There weren't people popping into threads to incite others to anger for no reason. There wasn't as much "douche-ness" for lack of a better term.
Why can't we all just get along? You can disagree with someone without resorting to insulting them.

I think this singles out a few choice posters. But the thing is, a good bit of them have either been around for a while or have recently come back. There aren't many new people who are like this...

I'm not necessarily saying that they are new people. Just that the board has changed. There are many to blame, old and new (you're absolutely not one of them if that's what you're trying to get at).

Simple job..you would think. I've RA'd the stickied threads every day this week and they are still there. The admin would have a small and easy job. That's why I don't understand why it's so hard for the site to do.
