English FA to debate going to B team model

saw this on tv this morning. Would be like how its done in spain and germany. The reserve side would be the B or II team and could get promoted or relegated to certain levels.
I think its a great idea. Esp to see the bigger clubs youth guys playing in league one actually for their club.

The gap between league 1 and the prem is ridiculous, Id rather my good youth players go on loan to Championship teams.

Pretty sure in Spain and Germany the A and B squads are preventing from playing in the same division at ANY level. In fact, they must always be one division lower.
I remember a few years back when Barcelona B finished third in the Segunda, but were not allowed to participate in the promotion play-offs.

Spain is the 2nd division and Germany is the 3rd but most teams are in the regional leagues.

yea it doesn't stop the clubs in spain or germany from loaning out their players.
If anything it gives more players a chance to develop at a professional level. This could really pay of in the development of young English players.

The reserve teams used to be able to play in the Copa Del Rey. In fact, the 1980 Final saw Real Madrid defeat Real Madrid B.

Yes you could, but what I mean is that any youth player worth a lick Id send to the Championship not League 1, meaning that the B team is full of over paid has beens and youth players who arent good enough.
It wouldnt be put through because that is alot of spaces for first teams that are being taken and it would adversely affect alot of teams leading to potential liquidation for some.

Which would be good for play development, get your young guys playing at the highest level they can

I had saw something that said the teams wouldn't compete in the FA or League Cup. Also, I believe that Seattle is considering starting a USL Pro club.

It already happens (sending them to the championship)
And with the rule of only 3 players allowed to be over 21 it means that second rate youth players would be in this league, which while good for the youth helps put other people out a job when full time teams are hampered by the B teams

Teams want as many players in their system getting on the field to develop. It works in germany and spain no reason it won't work in England.
This could pay off big for the national team

there's a petition going around to ban this.
supporters of teams in lower leagues are heavily against this, claiming in makes the top 4 or 5 even bigger and provides no benefit to lower division teams.

Most the teams in the conference will never make it to full time pro's.
The first few years would be interesting to let these B teams sort themselves out in this new division with teams coming up from the conference as well.
