Do the Spurs take a big tumble from here on out?

Bale and Modric are likely on their way out, and were regardless of the results of yesterday
Tott made a gamble a few years ago to spend more to get to the CL, which works...as long as you keep making the CL. now that they're going to miss out on that money they risk pulling a Newcastle from a few years ago
ade almost assuredly won't be back, as they can't afford those wages without the CL $
modric to man U or chelsea and bale is out...i'm guessing Barca but i wouldn't be shocked to see Chelsea put in a bid
can they make the moves to stay in the top 6, or will the financial and personnel losses push them into a negative cycle towards the lower half?

As long as Duncan and Ginobili stay healthy they can run a couple more years.

It all depends on how their board responds.
Newcastle's problem was that the board felt the need to "prove" that NUFC was a big club so they went out and spent a ton of money on overpriced aging stars like Michael Owen who turned out to be trash.

I think they should sell Bale. Ridiculously overvalued. Modric is key though. They need a striker though, because they can't afford Ade. They actually probably need two strikers.

I think they'll just reinvest, and selling Bale wouldn't be the end of the world. I would definitely agree that he's ridiculously overvalued.
They've been willing to spend big for a while now though. Its easy to forget this now, but they paid something like 15 million plus for David Bentley. They paid 16.5 million for Darren Bent in 2007. Some of their transfers over the last two years have been bargains, relatively speaking. Van der Vaart for 8 million, Parker for 5, etc.
I don't see anything changing this year. They'll have money to spend. I think they would have been really going after strikers regardless, and then its a matter of replacements if they lose Bale or Modric.

i think that this is the likely course if Tottenham wants to remain in that top 4 level
the response will be desperate and forceful, imho, and will be VERY risky at the same time

they need to sell him for this reason
modric will likely go for more and will be major. i still think ManU gets him (and they need him)
