I remember always thinking Carlos Ruiz was a dirty prick. Rico Clark was the man.

Didn’t Keane get triggered in 2002 because they were given cheese sandwiches as a recovery snack?

I always think of him complaining about the field they trained on, but he was definitely thorough in his criticisms

Never knew about this which is an absolute golden passage in this context:
quote:
On the flight to Tokyo, Ireland’s captain killed time watching Smith’s portrayal of Muhammad Ali and was transfixed by the scene in which the boxer resists the urgings of his family, friends and advisers to accept the draft for the Vietnam war. “They’re all urging him to give in,” recalls Keane. “Take the draft. You won’t have to fight. Just go through the motions, play the game, screw the things you believe in. Ali resists them all. I’m doing what I think is right. It matters. You don’t compromise on your principles. Watching this is very moving. I hadn’t known this about Ali. Something in this scene strikes a chord with me. Don’t put up with shite. I’m not fighting a white man’s war. It’s an inspiring notion, a demonstration of conviction that I understand very clearly and I relate to my own life. Don’t compromise the things you believe in.”

Crazy Gang is one of my favorite docs. Those psychos bullied everybody, including their owner and teammates

Yes. Tried to copy paste a photo. Link said it was from an English story named football's hard men, and he was number seven in the list.
