Amazing how poor his EPL career was and how well he has done otherwise.
I didn't watch every ManU game, but when I did, he didn't seem as bad as others made him out to be. Perhaps money and expectations was the reason.

i.......like him (man that was hard). i hope he does well for uruguay this summer. then i hope he sucks next season, moves to a new club where i can freely admit to liking him and not feel disgusted with myself.
eta: i never watched him a manu so i can't say the difference, though i'm sure au can tell you

I believe he won the pichichi (highest goal tally) last year if I'm not mistaken.

He also seems to have his best games against English teams now that he's at non-fascist Madrid.

I want to take a large piss on Diego Forlan right now.

As a ManU fan, we all weren't happy with his production, especially since it took a good 8 months for him to score. Just seemed like something in the English game was holding him back... However, I remember that when he did score, they were HUGE goals of importance. I haven't kept up with him, but it looks like he is doing great in Spain for himself, so I'm happy for him.

That is sort of what I recall. And often they were dramatic in their execution as well.

Yeah after the long initial scoring drought, he was one of those X-factor players who could come into a game and vanish for 89 minutes, but then that last minute, he could destroy you.

invisible for 89 minutes. destroy you for 1 minute.
This could almost be the definition of a striker.

"He made the Scousers cry..." Exactly right. Forlan is a classic goal poacher. He seems totally uninvolved for long stretches of play, then he'll pounce onto a ball out of nowhere and punish teams.

He's actually won the European golden boot award twice. Once at Sevilla and once At Atléti.
He's frickin badass. him and Luiz Suarez up top is one of the most, if not the most, potent striking partnerships in the cup.

This is the more dangerous type of striker... The Rooneys, Torres', Messi's, Eto'os, etc. get ALL the attention from the defense, and Forlan was the kinda player that would gut you if you left him alone for too long. This was at ManU, nowadays he seems to be doing quite well for himself.
