Didier Drogba set to leave Chelsea

Interesting. Leading candidates for his services??

Leading candidates that is after he realizes he doesn't want to play for Shanghai Shenhua.

I hope he doesn't go to China.

He will have plenty of offers and I think he's leaving on a free.

Howard Nurse ?@howardnurse
I'm not saying Drogba won't leave #CFC (he may or may not) but the quotes attributed to him tonight aren't actually from him.

This, but if he leaves I want him in the MLS, but from the sounds of it, if he ever comes here it will be in a few years.

Too many other destinations with vastly deeper pockets.

At this point, I really dont see why he would leave. Unless the club is pushing him out, why leave a place that is ready to build statues for you? I'm sure Roman would pay him top wages for another couple years. He could murder the queen of England and Southwest London would idolize him. Pretty similar to the Pujols situation. I guess in the end, money will dictate his move.

ETA Not to mention that he's proven he's still the best forward on the team.

Lots of conflicting info. Think I'm just going to hang tight until Chelsea or Didier himself make a statement confirming his departure.

His style suits the Italian league well I think.

Back to Marseille maybe?

PSG could probably make a run for him but I highly doubt he will end up there, he'd go from most liked in Marseille to most hated .

At this point he should for the money and not for the titles IMO.

Hazard is very flighty IMO. It is going to be one of three teams. I won't include Arsenal because we won't ever pay that much for a player. He is the two time Ligue 1 player of the year and is a super talent IMO.

Daily Mail first reported it.

Using TD Soccer board logic of some posters. WHAT A PIECE OF shite ! CHELSEA FANS HAVE GIVEN HIM 2043x WHAT HE DESERVES. HE NEEDS TO GET HIS MIND RIGHT

This is really why I think he still stays. Regardless of if he's "on his way out" in general, he was without a doubt the best striker we had all season and is literally at the height of his career in Chelsea terms (as in winning, not form). He is a savior. He deserves a spot somewhere on the squad until he can't walk anymore

Gotcha. Just hard not to get caught up in the rumors. (I originally added an extra "u" to rumours but thought that would be too pretentious).

The Daily Mail isn't really reliable (none of the major papers are). The news will break on twitter before any major paper gets it.
