The Ronaldo goal really was bizarre from the GK. Honestly, I think it was worse than the goal the Russian let in against Korea. Probably the worst GK gaffe of this tournament so far (which is saying something).
ETA: No, I don't think the match was fixed, and I do think all the Ghanaian players wanted to win.

Were you comatose when they were awarding the 2022 World Cup?
Did you just use the awarding of the Qatar World Cup as an example of FIFA's integrity?

He used it as an example of how no one at FIFA would want the US to succeed in any way, shape, or form.
But then again......

I don't believe that. Ignoring Ghana's interests entirely, I just think it's hilarious that he thinks FIFA executives are going to go full crooked on something they can't directly monetize or benefit from, especially during the World Cup when they can have just about whatever they want.
Let's run through the facts.
What we know:
1. An African goalkeeper flapped at a ball in the air
2. Prince and Muntari were sent home
What we already knew:
1. African goalkeepers are hilariously unorthodox and frequently awful
2. Prince and Muntari have a history of being assholes

Nonsense. There was a second gunman.

I just watched the highlights, and I now understand what people were talking about. Basically, at this point, you better believe that FIFA wants the USA TV market still in this. USA is really their biggest zone in which to expand. Basically, the Ghana players just got paid in cash for their appearance and two of their better players were just sent home. I sort of wonder if FIFA didn't provide the money ( as there was quite a bit of speculation it wasn't there before it was sent) just to get them to go away, especially with all the rumors of match fixing involving Ghana making the WC.
Why didn't they throw the match against us in 2006 or 2010?

Plus the US rights have already been decided. Fifa doesn't make any additional money for the US games this WC, and the next two are already bought. That would be a very long term con, and not worth it at this point, likely.
