I hate hyping young players so much. Everyone faps to the future. Just rely on and enjoy our best current options.

I know it was just one game and he wasn't great in the friendlies but Yedlin looked like a great current option last night. He ran guys down and bullied them off the ball and created an oppertunity on the attack.

It was the best I have ever seen him play by far. I still wish he and everyone else (besides Dempsey) were smarter with running to the corner, but he may not be a bad replacement for Zusi or Bedoya if we have to start both.

He's actually very similar to Yedlin, in that he is very athletic but needs to refine his game a bit more, except as a CB. Recently though he has gotten much better technically and he has looked very good in all the games he has played in, except his debut of course.

I think his future is as a winger or wingback, not as a fullback in a four man backline. He's really defensively unsound at times for Seattle...like Jonny Bornstein bad. I wouldn't trust him to slot in as rightback if something happened to Fabian Johnson.

To me, Deandre Yedlin is a Serge Aurrier clone, the right back from the Ivory Coast.
They both have absolutely ridiculous potential. Serge is better right now but that's not a big deal. They are built the exact same way.

Serge Aurier has played almost 120 times at a club level. DeAndre Yedlin has played 36 times for the Seattle Sounders.
Aurier, at 21 is a polished player ready to play for a Champions League contender. Yedlin, at 20, is a raw prospect who still needs a year or two more in MLS before he gets a shot in maybe the French or the Dutch leagues.
Yedlin is not ready to start for his national team. Aurier usurped Ivory Coast's established rightback, Emmanuel Eboue to start at the World Cup.
They are not very similar aside from a year's difference in age, and a similar body type.
