Seattle Sounders right-back DeAndre Yedlin is expected to complete his awaited move to Tottenham Hotspur in January, as his EU passport should arrive in the next two weeks. Yedlin will receive his Latvian passport in the next fortnight, according to a report in the Daily Mirror, which he qualifies for as his grandmother was Latvian and he should then be free to move to England in time for the new year.

At least he's going to a bottom half EPL side so he should get some PT.

frick. You.

Also, serious answer. Kyle Walker should finally be fit by then, so there will be three right backs ahead of him. We actually could use a winger/outside mid type player, but I'm not sure he's polished enough for that yet. The whole move is a head scratcher. Hope it works somehow.

He's not. He won't see the field JMO.

I think you are probably right, but our winger depth is so atrocious, I could see Poch giving him a shot at some point. I've completely given up on Townsend and Lennon.

I really don't see Yedlin getting playing time with Spurs. They are already stacked at RB (I mean depth not quality) and I see Lamela, Erickson, Chadli (who has been clutch) and others ahead of him as potential wingers. I wish Yedlin could have played another full season in MLS. Hopefully he gets a loan or something but England has a terrible record of developing our young talent.

Who are these others you speak of? Lamela, Eriksen, and Chadli usually are on the field together (either Lamela or Eriksen at the 10). After that, we have no depth. Lennon just runs fast and Townsend is awesome at launching balls over the goal.

Those were the others. I knew I was forgetting some so I decided on a generic statement. Do you really see Yedlin getting playing time over any of those five?

I'd give him a shot. We basically have 4 wingers (since one of those 5 has to play in the middle). If we stick around Europa for a while, someone not listed will get a game, whether it's Yedlin or someone else we get in the winter window.

Let me add that I don't think Yedlin is good enough to be playing, but I don't think a lot of our players are good enough.
