So do the Brits just unleash hell on with racist chants and tweets? I feel bad for the kid. He may need to leave the country. What do you guys think?

They'll probably go nuts.

Seems like they've had others miss PKs that cost them matches in bigger tournaments, though.

1 or 2 people will aim racist stuff on him at twitter, but they will be charged for it, he'll get over it and go on to become and England regular

I don't think it will be that bad for Sturridge. He got lucky that the British athletes had a tremendous day yesterday with Ennis, Farrah and co. winning gold. The big headlines showed those victories rather than Stutteridge's foibles (STILL GREATER THAN CAVANI).

I know, but since it was on home soil, I find it hard to believe he won't take a beating.

It being a youth competition probably helps his cause. I for one definitely care less abt it than I would a full national team event.

I still did want to murder some salvadorians after the us game though.

Could weight on him mentally. Just what Chelsea need another headcase for a striker.

Sturridge's miss further proves my theory that the stutter step is fricking stupid and does not work.

I think it's less effective in shootouts than in games and that just stepping up and not getting fancy with it is a better strategy. I get that the stutter steps works more than not but in big shootouts it often seems to fail i.e. schweiny and Ronaldo

He did well in most of the games. He is a young guy with alot of talent. That being said I hate that stutter step bullshite some do on PK's. Just take the frickin PK.
