Can't say I blame him.
Kroos and James are good buys
But they should not have sold Di Maria and Xabi.
Its pretty well known he wants to come back to United one day. Might happen soon than expected.

Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Manchester United because of his breakdown in relations with Real Madrid’s hierarchy and the influence of his agent, our Sunday Supplement panel claimed.
The Portugal star has appeared at odds with Real’s policy of transforming their Champions League winning squad and any disillusionment makes a move back to Manchester realistic.
The Sun’s Antony Kastrinakis insists Ronaldo disapproves of the club’s strategies rather than the club itself, saying: “The club, no. The situation at the club, certainly.
quote:
“He had a go at [Real president] Florentino Perez about two weeks ago for selling Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso just a week before the season started.
“A bizarre decision – they’re hot favourites to retain their title and the Champions League, the first team to do that in the new format. And now, two defeats in the league.
“Ronaldo’s attack came just before the international break when they lost 4-2 at Real Sociedad. The collapse there sparked a massive debate – the debate whether they should have sold Di Maria to United and certainly Alonso to Bayern Munich.
“Ronaldo said ‘if I were president I wouldn’t have done it’ and then Perez was under massive pressure when he announced record income. He said ‘there’s no problem between me and Ronaldo’.”

Too soon to tell, IMO.

They bought Kroos and let him play the Xabi role. Aka they didn't scout him.

I saw this a couple of days ago, and my pants got tighter...
Ronaldo return to United likely within next two transfer windows

Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague added his thoughts on a possible Ronaldo return to Old Trafford during an interview with Mutiny Press. “Let’s say…that I think Cristiano Ronaldo will go back. When will that be? I have a good idea, but I’m not going to say it!”

Who is replacing Xabi right now? Kroos
He's a great player but if they put him in the holding role to protect the back four he is a liability on defense.
James is a great player and good #10 but not where near as versatile as Di Maria.

Xabi seemed to adjust well to the holding role as he aged. Didn't need to be sold.

Di Maria was the most dangerous player during Real's CL run last year, his defensive work was impeccable as well. James is fine, but Real already had Modric and Isco. There isn't another Di Maria out there.

I don't know why Perez would frick with a good thing, other than ego...
I mean, Di Maria is in his prime and is world class... I can maybe understand Xabi, due to age.. IMO Xabi is a DLP and not a true DM, but they could probably have used one..
That said, with the talent they have, they should be able to mop the floor with most teams and may just take some time to bed in..
Di Maria is really a head scratcher, though...

They have Illarramendi who is currently playing the Casemiro role. ETA: There have also been rumors that Varane might see some time there
Ancelotti's just trying to forcefrick everyone into the team. Someone needs to tell him that the season starts in August.

If they sign any more big names could they be in FFP trouble?

no
United won't go on that type of spending spree again in a long time. shite they still got 32 million for the players they sold. With a few more on the chopping block.

not going to happen
id wait and just let him come on a free if need be.
Posted on 9/15/14 at 5:31 pm to StraightCashHomey21
The free would be in four years. Apparently, he wanted to play out his contract and go to Man U at 33.
This offseason was a clusterfrick. All Madrid had to do was nothing.
