I am I just kinda really picked up soccer 3 or 4 years ago so that's about as far as my history goes with the sport.
But if everyone else is pleased than I'm all for it.
Well, his Chelsea team in '04-'05 has the EPL record for most points in a season at 95. He owns points records in Serie A and in Portugal too I believe.
Between 2002 and 2011 his teams did not lose one single home league match. that's 150 unbeaten home matches in a row.
His teams seem to make the Champions League Semis every year.
He's won the Champions League with 2 different clubs, one of them being Porto.
Took Chelsea to their first Champions League Final.
Dozens of individual awards.
No one else has a better resume for European Club Football than Mou. He is The Special One. HE IS ONE OF US! COYB

too early to name a title favorite. each of the top clubs are flawed. huge transfer window for everyone.

It's probably too early, I agree.
Chelsea is flawed sure ... but top-to-bottom it's one of the two best squads in England (Chelsea and United) in my opinion.
Big questions around Chelsea surround Luiz (great talent, can also be a match-winner or loser, depending on how volatile he is on a given day), what to do with Courtois (great young keeper who's ready ... what direction do they go?) and Lukaku ( could use another year of seasoning on loan, but no better way to groom Baby Drogba than under the man who made Drogba world-class)
I think Chelsea is a fascinating watch this window. It's obvious though that the midfield core of Ramires, Hazard, Mata & Oscar is probably more talented than any other core in the Premier League.
Chelsea would do with another striker up top. I think Torres is a viable squad option, but the lost pace ensures he's not a No. 1 option for a team like the Blues now.

It's just a stupid rumor, no way we are selling our best defender
ETA: Jose actually wanted Luiz when he was at Benfica

Definitely. Looks to be a three horse race unless Arsenal gets all of their Barca players back.
It would be hard to put united as the favorites without saf though. They have talent and Moyes should fill in admirably, but it will be hard to follow up his act.

I don't think that is a real quote. But I did see it floating around the internet.

Being pedantic here, but he didn't. He left in September of 2007, Avram Grant took over, led them to the CL final. But it was basically Mourinho's team and Mourinho's system. The deep, defensive 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 was the same formation used by subsequent managers until AVB tried to implement a high pressure 4-3-3 on a very old squad.

Damn him and the 2007 League Cup final. Still annoyed about that and the Essien goal.

This better be right. I love Luiz and Mata for that matter. Selling either or both would be a mistake.

I have probably watched that on Youtube 2000 times.

You mean the "comes out to Essieeeeeeeeeeeen. Oh my God, what a strike"?
Posted on 6/4/13 at 9:04 pm to Bho
Yes, but it's actually "Comes out to Essieeeeeeeeeeeeeen (pause to let it sink in) Oh my Goodness! What an UNBELIEVABLE strike! (pause again) Unstoppable, and they're not finished they're not over celebrating this. They've got one, they want two, there's six minutes left..." you get the idea.
Watching that goal after researching Essien after the Ghana Italy WC 06 match is the main reason I am a Chelsea fan.

Well that is a shame, because we are trying to sell Mata according to Marca

Might be the funniest/stupidest rumor I have ever seen

Mou benched Iker so it's hard to rule anything out
Posted on 6/5/13 at 12:07 am to svb
Oscar and Mata aren't typical Mourinho type players. The rumor mill will likely churn because of that.
